Six goals across two back-to-back home games for Stoke City this week who breathe a bit of life back into their season.Sorba Thomas was back in the starting 11 today after serving his red card suspension, adding yet another assist to his impressive tally.

He won’t be credited for the other two goals but his ability to break, read the game and put in successful cross after cross was central to this afternoons win for the Potters.Thomas has amassed more than 300 crosses so far this season, which is 70 more than anyone else in the league. His presence also seemed to give the team confidence to play.Perhaps there is a light at the end of the tunnel for injury stricken stoke as key players start to come back, including Sam Gallagher who came off the bench to bag the thurd.

The question is without the injury issues, and with a player like Thomas in their ranks, could Stoke have staked their claim in the play-offs?

Very happy Stoke fan here. Nine points from top six, highly unlikely we'll overcome that deficit but now we're back to scoring goals and winning ways - let's aim for a high finish!

    A turning point, perhaps?

West Brom win their first game in 2026, ending a 13-game winless run in the league. They are still in a right old scrap to stay up, but this is a huge boost.

Perhaps the biggest compliment I can give is that they were by far the better side against Hull. The red card was the key moment, but The Baggies were well on top before that.

There was a real optimism and hope at full time at The Hawthorns, they haven't felt that in a while. James Morrison has his first win as manager, too.

For Hull, that's a real sucker punch but fortunately for them, Ipswich were the only team above them in the table who won.

West Bromwich Albion move out of the relegation zone after their 3-0 home win over Hull City.

Blackburn Rovers' victory at The Den also sees them climb further away from the drop zone, while Leicester City drop to 23rd after their dismal defeat at home to Queens Park Rangers.

At the top, Ipswich Town move to within two points of the automatic promotion places after slip-ups from the Lions and Middlesbrough.

It's very disappointing for the travelling fans.

We're still in a great position, but off the back of that there's a sour taste in our mouth. They wanted it more, they hadn't won in 13 games and it was a great opportunity to turn them over.

    We let ourselves down today.

A magnificent performance this afternoon from West Bromwich Albion.

Sometimes it can be harder to play against 10-men but Albion were encouraging throughout the entire game. It's very hard to pick out individuals because they've all done a tremendous job.

All in all, the most important thing is it's three vital points which could keep us in this division.

We've still got a big job to do for the rest of the season.

    It's a massive three points.

We're disappointed with the performance, but at the end of the day the three points is what it's all about.

I'll be honest, I couldn't see us scoring, but a good finish from Azon puts us one up, and a great penalty from Clarke makes it two, that's the only bit of excitement we've had.

It keeps us in the hunt, it's all in our hands, we just have to improve our performance.

    Birmingham 1-1 Sheffield United

Full-time at St Andrew's and 10-man Sheffield United have clung on to an impressive point on the road.

They trailed moments after Femi Seriki was shown a straight red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity.

Marvin Ducksch stepped up from the resulting free-kick and banged it into the top corner.

Sydie Peck then missed a penalty for the visitors before they levelled in injury time at the end of the first time through Patrick Bamford.

Ducksch hit the woodwork three times this afternoon as the Blades rode their luck in a determined performance against the odds to earn a draw.

Josh Maja broke the deadlock for the home side before Hull's Charlie Hughes was shown a straight red card for hauling down Jed Wallace.

Aune Heggebo grabbed the Baggies' second before Isaac Price put the cherry on the top of the three points for Albion's first win of 2026, tucking home Danny Imray's cut-back.

Jordan James' long range stunner gave the hosts the lead before Harvey Vale took advantage of some slack defending to equalise just before the break.

Ben Nelson's own goal put the Rs ahead before Ronnie Edwards scored to put the visitors in total control, and plunge the Foxes into further relegation plight.
