    Liverpool 0-0 Leeds

Curtis Jones triggers the start of another positive move by winning the ball deep in his own half. His challenge draws a cheer from the crowd.

But moments later they are groaning in frustration when Hugo Ekitike runs offside.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 18:47 GMT 1 January

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Fulham

Crystal Palace midfielder Will Hughes goes down for treatment, and is replaced by Jaydee Canvot.

Palace are already light in midfield - Canvot goes into defence so that Jefferson Lerma can step up into midfield.

    Sunderland v Man City

Sunderland make just one alteration from the 1-1 draw against Leeds United last time out.

Eliezer Mayenda comes into the side in place of Chris Rigg, who drops to the bench.

Sunderland XI: Roefs, Hume, Mukiele, Alderete, Cirkin, Xhaka, Geertruida, Mayenda, Adingra, Le Fee, Brobbey.

    Sunderland v Man City

Manchester City make two changes following their hard-fought 2-1 win at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

There's a surprise in defence with Nathan Ake getting a first Premier League start since October in place of Josko Gvardiol.

Savinho also comes into the side in place of Tijjani Reijnders, with both of the replaced players on the bench.

City are boosted by the return of Jeremy Doku, who is a substitute, alongside Reigan Heskey, son of former England striker Emile.

Man City XI: Donnarumma, Nunes, Dias, Ake, O'Reilly, Silva, Gonzalez, Savinho, Cherki, Foden, Haaland.

    Liverpool 0-0 Leeds

Virgil van Dijk goes to attack a ball on the halfway line but clearly leads with his arm and lands it on the chin of Lukas Nmecha.

    Liverpool aren't happy but it's clearly a free-kick.

The set-piece is wasted by Leeds anyway.

Yeremy Pino could've used a bit more calmness there to get a better sight at goal.

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Fulham

Tyrick Mitchell fizzzes a low cross into the path of Justin Devenny, whose first-time shot is blocked.

Yeremy Pino collects and attempts to thread a cute pass to Jean-Philippe Mateta, but he slightly overcooks it and it rolls out for a goal-kick.

Lots of bodies in the box and Dominik Szoboszlai picks Conor Bradley out.

Conor Bradley brings energy to this team, and that is what Liverpool are going to need in this second half.

    Liverpool 0-0 Leeds

Another corner for Liverpool and this time Andy Robertson elects to put it into the mixer.

Leeds clear again and Liverpool are denied the chance to come back with the second ball when James Justin goes down with an injury.

Justin is back up. It wasn't a head injury so I'm not sure why play was halted.

    Liverpool 0-0 Leeds

    Ahhhh.

Liverpool take the corner short and after lots of toing and froing it's delivered into the box where Leeds clear.

    A frustrating watch.

  10. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 18:42 GMT 1 January

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Fulham

Fulham make the first change of the evening, with Timothy Castagne replacing the injured Kenny Tete.

  11. Postpublished at 18:42 GMT 1 January

    Liverpool 0-0 Leeds

Much better from Liverpool as Curtis Jones pops up between the lines and injects some urgency.

An initial cross is cleared but Conor Bradley is there for the second ball and wins a corner.

  12. Postpublished at 18:41 GMT 1 January

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Fulham

We have a stoppage in play as Fulham's Kenny Tete has gone down holding his leg. Fulham are preparing a change.

  13. Postpublished at 18:39 GMT 1 January

Conor Bradley and Ryan Gravenberch both end up on the receiving end of late challenges.

Both are OK to continue without treatment.

Where is the urgency? Teams no longer fear Liverpool like they did last year. Slot has turned a very good Liverpool team into a mid table team.

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Fulham

Crystal Palace beware - since the start of last season, Fulham have won more Premier League away games when trailing at half time than any other side (four).

  16. Postpublished at 18:38 GMT 1 January

    Liverpool 0-0 Leeds

For anyone hoping Liverpool would come out with greater intensity in the second half, I'm afraid to say that just isn't the case after the opening five minutes.

  17. YELLOW CARDpublished at 18:38 GMT 1 January

    Crystal Palace 1-0 Fulham

Fulham's Kevin goes down under a challenge from Jefferson Lerma, and Joachim Andersen talks himself into a yellow card by complaining to the referee.

  18. 'Brilliant from Frimpong'published at 18:36 GMT 1 January

    Liverpool 0-0 Leeds

    Jamie Carragher
Former Liverpool defender on Sky Sports

    Brilliant from Jeremie Frimpong, again.

He has been excellent at the start of this second half. Frimpong, again, doing well at the start of the initial build-up.

  19. Postpublished at 18:36 GMT 1 January

    Liverpool 0-0 Leeds

Liverpool try to impose themselves from the off and make good ground with Jeremie Frimpong.

It's a familiar story, though, with no end product.
