Max Alleyne has got to score. He'll be disappointed. It's a free header and there's no pressure on him from the defenders.

This is already depressing, we cannot handle a press when playing around the back. We desperately need our back line to be more confident and stop handing the ball away because someone ran at them. And why have we started already passing back? Bodo/Glimt play high too, it's silly.

In this first five minutes all Man City's success has come from this right-hand side. The angle was against Rayan Cherki, powerful strike and it's a good save.

Rayan Cherki is played through by Rico Lewis and gets a decent strike away but it's a good stop by Nikita Haikin.

Manchester City have a corner and Phil Foden's delivery is a good one. A golden opportunity for Max Alleyne but he can't get his header on target.

Rico Lewis cuts back from close to the byline but Patrick Berg makes a crucial block. After that early scare Manchester City will want to assert some dominance.

Well that was all a bit of a mess.

Bodo/Glimt carve through the Manchester City defence and then they just can't get it clear.

There's appeals for an offside from the visitors but it was all a bit sloppy, that, and the hosts will probably think they should have gone ahead.

Bodo midfielder Patrick Berg won the Norwegian league's player of the year last season.

The Norway international comes up against compatriot Erling Haaland tonight and it is a monumental task for his side to try and get anything out of this game.

Speaking to Berg in the lead-up to the game, he said: “We have had some great experiences in the last few years. At the biggest stage in the Champions League.

"I would rank this our number one game - alongside out semi-final against Tottenham. Meeting Pep Guardiola and his team, what they have achieved is incredible.

"To go up against them and see where we are at the highest level, that will be our biggest challenge so far."

Their game against Manchester United was really flat and they're trying to hang on in the Premier League, so it's about responding and putting on a show here.

Pep Guardiola has gone strong and he will want to win the game early.

Of course Manchester City will also have to contend with the artificial pitch tonight.

Boss Pep Guardiola said he is not a fan but his side will not use it as an excuse.

Personally it's the -9C (feels like -15C) I would be concerned about.

Bodo/Glimt will be out if they lose tonight. It's been their first ever season in the Champions League proper.

It's fair to say it's been a challenge with no wins. They have, however, secured draws against Borussia Dortmund, Slavia Prague and Tottenham Hotspur.

Bodo/Glimt have the highest xG against (17.2) of any side in the Champions League this season. The Norwegian side have also conceded 3+ xG in a match on the most occasions in the competition this term, doing so in four out of their six games.

    Bodo/Glimt v Man City (17:45 GMT)

After losing their final four away games of the 2024-25 Champions League, Manchester City are unbeaten on the road (W2 D1) in the current edition.

Pep Guardiola could win his 25th Champions League away game in charge of City (on 24), something only two other managers have done with one side (39 for Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, 30 for Arsene Wenger at Arsenal).

  16. Tel 'bemused' at squad omissionpublished at 17:30 GMT 20 January

Tottenham v Borussia Dortmund (20:00 GMT)

Tottenham forward Mathys Tel is said to be bemused at being left out of the Champions League squad for the second time this season.

The 20-year-old was not included in boss Thomas Frank's initial squad in September, but was eventually added to replace a previously injured Dominic Solanke in December.

However, with Ricarlison now injured, Frank has recalled Solanke at the expense of Tel.

Before this, Tel had asked for an opportunity to leave the club on loan in January to improve his chance of making France's World Cup squad, but has so far not been allowed to do so.

  17. Does Frank need to win or should he get more time?published at 17:27 GMT 20 January

    Tottenham v Dortmund (20:00 GMT)

Tottenham are winless in 2026 and reports earlier this week suggested the club were considering sacking boss Thomas Frank after losing to West Ham at the weekend.

However, in his news conference on Monday, Frank insisted he had a "feeling of trust" from the board.

Former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson feels the Danish head coach needs more time as "a good manager will reap the rewards eventually".

"We live in a world now where you lose three or four games and the manager is put immediately in the spotlight and the scrutiny turns on to him and his job," Robinson said.

"Whereas actually, I've always said the greatest gift you can give any manager or coach is time, because a good manager will reap the rewards eventually.

"His managerial career at Tottenham is still very much in its infancy and I think we are guilty of reacting very quickly. You forget this team finished bottom of the rest last season without getting relegated.

"Yes, they are currently the Europa League champions, but how poor they were last season, then I think this season is an addition to where they finished last. It is going to take time to improve a squad that was not good enough to compete at both levels."

Inter Milan v Arsenal (20:00 GMT)

Arsenal’s last victory away to an Italian side in the Champions League was in March 2008 (2-0 v Milan). Since then, they have failed to win on five straight trips (D1 L4), while failing to score a single goal.

  19. Gyokeres is 'really trying to give his best'published at 17:23 GMT 20 January

Inter Milan v Arsenal (20:00 GMT)

Viktor Gyokeres has not made a flying start to life at Arsenal despite them being top of the Premier League and top of the Champions League league phase.

The Sweden striker has scored eight times in 26 games but Mikel Arteta has come to his defence: "It goes for all the number nines in the league, and how difficult it is to play that position these days with the physicality, dominance and quality of centre-backs and lack of space.

"That's about consistency. We know his work rate, he's really trying to give his best and he's willing to work."
