Good luck to Hearts tonight. Be nice to see them win the league.

    Gary

Hearts winning the title would be so good, not just for them as a club, but for Scottish football as a whole. To have had only two teams win the title for 40 years is a problem.

    Roberto

As a Hibs fan I hope Hearts win the league tonight. For many football fans, apart from those supporting Celtic and Rangers, this has always seemed impossible but for one half of Edinburgh there is a chance to fufil a dream.

  3. New milestone for Premiership gatespublished at 19:31 BST 13 May

Scottish Premiership attendances are set to pass four million for the first time.

The current tally so far is 3,901,065.

"Top of the European top-flight attendances per capita league again," should make for a catchy chant.

Just this afternoon, reports emerged suggesting Jens Berthel Askou is a target for Toulouse.

Media mischief? Maybe, but the Dane's exploits cannot have gone unnoticed beyond these shores.

  5. Will Motherwell make another mark in title race?published at 19:26 BST 13 May

    Motherwell v Celtic (20:00)

Motherwell held Hearts to a 1-1 draw at Fir Park last weekend, having beaten Rangers at Ibrox a fortnight before.

In December, they took Celtic to the cleaners in ML1, the 2-0 final score a scant reflection of their dominance.

However, that was during the disarray of Wilfried Nancy's eight-game reign which threatened to derail the champions completely.

Motherwell gaffer Jens Berthel Askou is among those being linked with Celtic after a hugely impressive first term in Scotland.

  6. Cup defeat a warning for Heartspublished at 19:22 BST 13 May

    Hearts v Falkirk (20:00)

Much of the pre-match chatter is about Motherwell making life difficult for Celtic, but not many are giving Falkirk a sniff of an upset at Tynecastle.

Hearts are unbeaten at home in the league, winning 14 of their 18 games.

The Bairns have lost their three previous league meetings with the leaders without scoring.

But they did make Scottish Cup progress after a penalty shoot-out win in Gorgie in January. That one finished 1-1 after 120 minutes.

  7. Who is Muzza backing?published at 19:19 BST 13 May

Hibs fan Sir Andy Murray has his say.

The tennis legend caused a bit of a stooshie recently, saying it would be a good thing if Hearts held on to win the title.

He's sticking with that sentiment, but feels Celtic might just do it.

  10. No Tavernier for Rangers, same again for Hibspublished at 19:09 BST 13 May

    Rangers v Hibernian (20:00)

No Ibrox farewell for James Tavernier, with the departing Rangers skipper not in the squad for the final home game of the season.

Dujon Sterling steps in at right-back and there's a place for Thelo Aasgaard in midfield as Tochi Chukwuani makes way.

Hibs are unchanged from their win over Falkirk. Josh Mulligan is among the substitutes having been out of action since January with an ankle problem.

  11. Devlin & Milne start for Heartspublished at 19:07 BST 13 May

    Hearts v Falkirk (20:00)

Hearts are boosted by the return to the starting line-up of key duo Cammy Devlin and Harry Milne.

There are four changes in total from the 1-1 draw at Motherwell, with centre-back Frankie Kent and winger Alexandros Kyziridis also brought in to start.

Jordi Altena and Stephen Kingsley drop to the bench, while Craig Halkett and Marc Leonard miss out entirely with Achilles injuries.

Falkirk boss John McGlynn has been forced into a defensive reshuffle for this one.

Filip Lissah and Leon McCann hobbled off in their defeat by Hibs on Saturday, while Lewis Neilson is ineligible against his parent club.

There is also no place for striker Barney Stewart.

Liam Henderson, Coll Donaldson and Sam Hart start in defence, with Ben Braggio brought into the forward line.

  12. Three Motherwell swaps; Tounekti in for Celticpublished at 19:05 BST 13 May

    Motherwell v Celtic (20:00)

Motherwell manager Jens Berthel Askou makes a trio of changes to the side that started their 1-1 draw with Hearts.

Tom Sparrow, Johnny Koutroumbis, and Lukas Fadinger come in, with Liam Gordon and Oscar Priestman dropping to the bench.

Defender Stephen Welsh is ineligible to face his parent club.

Martin O'Neill makes one change to the Celtic starting XI that went on to beat Rangers 3-1.

Wide forward Sebastian Tounekti comes in as Luke McCowan drops to the bench.

  13. 'Astronomical financial gulf'published at 18:59 BST 13 May

    Hearts v Falkirk (20:00)

    Tom English
BBC Scotland chief sports writer on Sportsound

Denigrating Hearts because Celtic have not been Celtic is grossly unfair.

Their turnover in the most recent figures is £24m; Celtic's is £143m.

Celtic have brought in between £370-420m from European football over the past 20 years, Hearts have brought in about £24m.

It's an astronomical financial gulf between the two clubs, which makes their story even better if they were to do it.

  14. 'Celtic nowhere near their level'published at 18:57 BST 13 May

    Motherwell v Celtic (20:00)

    Darren O'Dea
Former Celtic defender on BBC Radio Scotland

I think Celtic fans fear this game tonight more than they do Hearts.

If they can take it to Celtic Park, the atmosphere that can be created there should see Celtic over the line.

Hearts have been outstanding this season, regardless of Celtic. You cannot deny Celtic have been nowhere near their level.

  18. Long list of what-ifspublished at 18:47 BST 13 May

In a title race this close, there are always going to be so many "what-if?" moments.

Top of the Celtic list will be what if Martin O'Neill hadn't made way for Wilfried Nancy in December only for the pensioner to parachute back in a month later?

The 74-year-old is averaging 2.5 points from his 21 league games. For comparison, Derek McInnes is on 2.14.

Meanwhile, Hearts fans are still asking why referee Steven McLean denied them a spot-kick at Fir Park on Saturday night.

  19. McInnes works his magicpublished at 18:44 BST 13 May

    Hearts v Falkirk (20:00)

Last season, Hearts finished seventh, a whopping 42 points behind Celtic, while Derek McInnes took Kilmarnock to ninth.

Yes, there has been a series of implosions at the defending champions, but head coach McInnes has worked wonders in his debut campaign at Tynecastle, already amassing 77 points, the biggest haul of any non-Old Firm team in the 13-year Premiership era.

McInnes was a runner-up to Celtic in three successive seasons during his time at Aberdeen. Can he go one better this time?

  20. 'Celtic grinding out wins'published at 18:39 BST 13 May

    Motherwell v Celtic (20:00)

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

I hope Hearts sustain and build on what they've done, because it will force Celtic and Rangers into making changes.

Celtic could win the double this year - will that change the board's mentality to say 'we're OK, we don't have to make all the changes?'

Celtic might not have produced the quality we've come to expect this season, but they have ground out results and Maeda has kicked into form at the right time.
