If Aston Villa are going to find a way back into this game it will come from Chelsea being too casual.

It's a poor, poor miss from Mbeumo. That's the best chance of the game.

How is Joelinton still on the pitch then given the sarcastic applause at the ref? Every time I watch Newcastle it seems he does everything to get sent off but never does.

Not only have Villa sleepwalked out of the Champions League contention, they are sleepwalking out of all European positions.

  8. Postpublished at 21:00 GMT 4 March

    Aston Villa 1-3 Chelsea

It's a Chelsea corner, but there's a bit of WWE in the box before it's taken as Morgan Rogers shoves Malo Gusto over.

It's nothing, though, and Emi Martinez catches the ball in.

  9. Man City join the set-piece trendpublished at 20:58 GMT 4 March

    Man City 2-1 Nottingham Forest

    Shamoon Hafez
Football news reporter at Etihad Stadium

I asked Pep Guardiola his thoughts on the reliance of set-pieces from Premier League teams this season.

He replied by saying it's part of the game now and his side need to "adapt".

Well, other teams better watch out because a Guardiola team are starting to score from corners now.

Just in time for the Carabao Cup final against Arsenal...!

  10. CLOSE!published at 20:58 GMT 4 March

    Aston Villa 1-3 Chelsea

Villa almost halves the deficit as Ollie Watkins rounds Filip Jorgensen but he can't get his shot off.

A goal for Villa and this gets very interesting.

First decent save of the game as Bryan Mbeumo runs along the edge of the box before feeding Kobbie Mainoo, whose shot is pushed away by Aaron Ramsdale.

  12. YELLOW CARDSpublished at 20:57 GMT 4 March

    Aston Villa 1-3 Chelsea

Morgan Rogers angrily boots the ball away after a decision goes against him, so he picks up a booking.

Enzo Fernandez, in ridiculous fashion, runs past the referee and claps in his face. Yellow card.

  13. Postpublished at 20:56 GMT 4 March

    Newcastle 0-0 Man Utd

Former Leeds goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

The referee has set his precedence. He's flashed yellow cards early in the game, and now any times there's a foul of a similar level, he's having to dish out the yellow cards.

That for Shaw was probably the most deserving.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:55 GMT 4 March

    Brighton 0-1 Arsenal

Another Arsenal change with Cristhian Mosquera making way for Riccardo Calafiori.

  15. Man Utd not got goingpublished at 20:54 GMT 4 March

    Newcastle 0-0 Man Utd

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport Manchester United reporter at St James' Park

Manchester United really have not got going.

They are struggling to build any passing momentum, when Michael Carrick was shouting 'wide, wide' a couple of minutes ago, they went down the middle and have barely got into a dangerous position.

Carrick looks a bit agitated in his technical area.

I can't imagine he is that impressed by what he has just seen.

And he is definitely is not impressed at Joelinton getting away with applauding the referee just then, his is letting fourth official Tim Robinson know what he thinks about that.

The problem Newcastle have had is the new signings haven't worked in the way Howe would've wanted immediately. You look at Guehi and Semenyo, look at the way they hit the ground running for Man City.

I still think the general consensus is that Howe is very well liked.

  17. Postpublished at 20:54 GMT 4 March

Benjamin Sesko receives the ball just outside the box and looks to move into the area but is shoved off the ball by Dan Burn. No free-kick.
