Everything that goes forward for Egypt is more by hope or luck rather than judgement. They are just waiting for a moment of magic from Salah or Marmoush.

Egypt are offering absolutely nothing going forward now, there's a complete disconnect between defence and attack.

Lamine Camara receives a Senegal corner outside the penalty area, but his low strike is easy for Mohamed El Shenawy to save.

Iliman Ndiaye pulls off a nice shimmy to get past his man, but then his team-mate slips as he goes to receive a pass.

What impact would an Afcon win have on Salah’s legacy?

The conversation about Salah's legacy is a complicated one. Everyone will acknowledge that he is the best player that Egypt have ever produced, but then there is a separate question, is he the best Egyptian national team player ever?

It is very harsh for his legacy to come down to two games, two Afcon finals, and one penalty shoot-out. But we also have to factor in the World Cup, he was the one that brought them back to that stage in 2018. However if you're in Egypt, Afcon is what really matters.

It hasn't kicked off yet. With it being a semi-final it's not been the game we expected, we expected to see chances and goals, and so far it has been very cagey. The teams are giving each other a bit too much respect.

No surprise that this is cagey. Remember it’s a game that’s been billed as part three of the Sadio Mane v Mohamed Salah trilogy of big international games.

Part 1 was the Afcon final in 2022 that ended nil nil and went to penalties. Part 2 was a World Cup Play-Off not long after that, which produced only 2 goals over 180 minutes and also went to penalties. We are probably in for the long haul today in part 3.

You can feel the nerves, tension and fear of making a mistake that will lose your nation this crucial game.

Senegal have had more of the ball and Mane has had many touches. He has been the one that has been more threatening. I want to see him more in the final third where he can create chances, maybe score a goal.

They have scored 2 or more goals in all five matches in this tournament and could become the first team to do so in six consecutive matches in a single edition.

However, Morocco have won their last three Afcon matches without conceding a goal, and could win four in a row without conceding for the first time in the history of the competition.

Morocco and Nigeria are the only two teams who haven’t trailed at any point at this Afcon.

On the touchline scuffle just before half-time:

There was a bit of a skirmish on the touchline. Senegal coach Pape Thiaw was giving one of his players instructions as an Egyptian was down injured but he was in the Egyptian technical area.

That didn't please one of the Egyptian coaches who pushed him which led to the benches clearing.

It was Hossam Hassan the Egyptian manager acting as peacemaker. He shielded Thiaw and led him away. When things calmed down, he went over and shook hands with Thiaw.

Referee Pierre Ghislain Atcho blows for half-time just as Senegal were about to take a corner.
