    Hartlepool have signed former Brighton defender Charlie Penman on a one-year deal.

    The 20-year-old was released by the Premier League side earlier this summer.

    He never made a senior appearance for the Seagulls but played nine times for Aldershot during a loan spell with the National League side last season.

    "Charlie has come here because he wants to establish himself in senior football and forge a successful career in the game," boss Lee Clark told the club website., external

    Gateshead midfielder Tyrelle Newton has signed a new one-year deal with the National League club.

    The 22-year-old has made 55 appearances for the club since joining in August 2024.

    The Luton Town academy graduate played 40 times for Gateshead in his first campaign, but injury restricted him to just 15 appearances last season.

    He joins midfielder Lucas Lowery and centre-back Ben Williams in agreeing new contracts with the club in recent days.

  3. Tamworth bring summer signings up to 10published at 14:26 BST 28 June

    Tamworth have completed their ninth and tenth summer signings.

    Striker Jake Hutchinson, 24, has joined after scoring 24 goals to help Folkestone Invicta win the Isthmian Premier Division title last season.

    Winger Riccardo Calder, 30, left relegated National League side Brackley earlier this summer.

    Tamworth have not disclosed the lengths of the players' contracts.

  4. Hornchurch bring in defender Moraleepublished at 13:45 BST 28 June

    Hornchurch have signed former Bromley defender Frankie Moralee.

    The 20-year-old, the son of former Millwall and Watford forward Jamie, was released by the League One side earlier this summer.

    Moralee did not make a senior appearance for the Ravens but had loan spells with non-league AFC Whyteleafe and Cray Wanderers.

    "He is a good size, with a good physical stamp, who reads the game and we're looking to helping develop his career now and moving forward," boss Daryl McMahon told the club's website., external

    The Urchins have not disclosed the length of Moralee's contract.

  5. Southend sign Merthyr midfielder Twamleypublished at 13:36 BST 28 June

    Southend United have signed Merthyr Town midfielder Lewys Twamley on a two-year deal, with a club option for a third year.

    The 22-year-old scored 16 goals in 46 National League North appearances last season.

    The former Wales Under-19 international started his career with Newport County.

    Shrimpers boss Kieron Dyer told the club's website:, external "Lewys had a remarkable season last year. For any player to have over 30 goal involvements in one season is truly incredible."

  6. Former Derby defender Cox joins Southendpublished at 19:35 BST 27 June

    Southend United have signed former Derby County defender Daniel Cox on a two-year contract with an option for an extra year.

    The 20-year-old came through the Derby academy and captained their under-21 side before his release this summer without a senior appearance for the Rams.

    Cox becomes the National League side's fourth signing of the summer since Kieron Dyer became head coach.

    Hartlepool have signed forward Chris Popov on a two-year deal following his departure from Leicester City.

    The 21-year-old made one senior appearance for the Foxes during the EFL Cup and spent time on loan at Barrow and Morecambe during the past two seasons.

    Popov has also represented Wales at various age grade levels including 17 games for their under-21 team.

    He links up with new Pools signing Jack Nolan, who he played alongside at the Shrimpers combining for 26 goals during the second half of last season.

    Hornchurch have re-signed goalkeeper Arthur Nasta on a permanent deal from Wolves.

    The 20-year-old played in all 46 league games during a loan spell last season as the club won promotion to the National League.

    Hornchurch have not confirmed the length of Nasta's contract.

  9. Gateshead's Lowery signs one-year extensionpublished at 16:08 BST 27 June

    Midfielder Lucas Lowery has signed a one-year contract extension to remain at Gateshead until 2027.

    The 19-year-old has played 10 games for Gateshead and spent much of last season on loan spells at the likes of Hebburn Town and Blyth Town in the Northern Premier League.

  10. Lambs continue signing spree with Parkes & Lyttlepublished at 21:49 BST 26 June

    Tamworth have taken their tally of signings for the week to eight by bringing in defenders Tom Parkes and Tyler Lyttle.

    Centre-back Parkes, 34, arrives from fellow National League side Hartlepool United, while full-back Lyttle, 29, joins from Brackley Town.

    Parkes made more than 300 appearances in the Football League, primarily for Bristol Rovers, Leyton Orient, Carlisle United and Exeter City, while Lyttle has spent most of his career in non-league.

    National League club Tamworth were taken over last week by 24-year-old American businessman Abdullah Ashraf.

    Forest Green Rovers have signed Wycombe Wanderers midfielder James Berry on a season-long loan.

    The 25-year-old, who spent last season on loan back at his previous club, League Two side Chesterfield, drops two divisions to join Robbie Savage's Rovers.

    He scored five goals for the Spireites last term but is yet to make a start for Wycombe since signing for them in January 2025.

    Berry also spent time with Savage's previous club Macclesfield.

    "He is undoubtedly one of the best talents I have ever worked with, and his ability is unquestionable," Savage said.

    Yeovil Town have signed Salford City defender Loick Ayina on a season-long loan.

    The 23-year-old made three appearances for the Ammies last season after joining the League Two club in the summer of 2025 following his release by Huddersfield Town.

    Ayina spent six years with the Terriers and made four appearances for the club, including two in the Championship.

    He also made four appearances for Boston United and 12 each for Dundee United and Ross County in the Scottish Premiership while on loan.

  13. Gateshead defender Williams signs new one-year dealpublished at 17:31 BST 26 June

    Gateshead centre-back Ben Williams has signed a new one-year contract.

    The 21-year-old made 15 appearances in all competitions for the Tynesiders in the 2025-26 campaign.

    Williams came through the Gateshead academy after joining from Sunderland and signed his first professional contract with the club in 2024.

    He also had a brief spell on loan at eighth-tier side Ashington between February and April this year.

    Solihull Moors have made their fourth signing of the summer with the arrival of midfielder Jamie Andrews on a one-year deal.

    The 23-year-old scored five times in 87 league games in two years with Woking and follows the arrivals of defenders Matty Carson and Justin Hanks and midfielder Joe Sbarra at the club.

    Andrews started his career at West Bromwich Albion, where he made one senior appearance, and has had previous National League experience on loan with Yeovil Town and Woking.

    He also had a loan spell in League Two with Grimsby, making 37 appearances during the 2023-24 season.

  15. Altrincham sign ex-Rochdale midfielder Barlowpublished at 17:14 BST 26 June

    Altrincham have signed former Rochdale midfielder Aidan Barlow.

    The 26-year-old made 38 National League appearances last season to help the Dale win promotion to League Two and scored five goals.

    Barlow is a product of the Manchester United youth academy and had spells with Doncaster Rovers and Eastleigh before joining Rochdale in 2024.

    He joins the Robins for free after his Rochdale contract expired at the end of the 2025-26 campaign and becomes Altrincham's second summer signing following the arrival of ex-Tranmere Rovers forward Sam Taylor.

    Boston United have signed midfielder Terrell Agyemang from relegated National League side Morecambe.

    He will complete the move on 1 July after his contract with the Shrimps expires.

    Agyemang spent much of last season on loan at Wealdstone, making 30 appearances, the last of them as a late substitute against Southend United in April.

    He is Boston's fourth signing since finishing 12th last season.

    Altrincham have signed former Tranmere Rovers forward Sam Taylor.

    The 22-year-old was one of 12 players to leave the League Two club upon expiration of his contract at the end of last season.

    Taylor came through the Tranmere academy and made six first team appearances after signing his first professional contract at Prenton Park in 2022.

    He spent most of the 2025-26 campaign on loan at NIFL Premiership side Linfield, where he scored two goals in 33 appearances in all competitions.

  18. Tamworth sign Handley and Fogartypublished at 22:38 BST 25 June

    Tamworth have further bolstered their squad with the signings of defenders Tom Handley and Tommy Fogarty.

    Handley, 25, has arrived from Merthyr Town - he scored seven goals in 44 appearances for the National League North club last season.

    Fogarty, 21, was recently released by Birmingham City. He ended last season on loan at Morecambe.

    The arrivals take the number of Tamworth summer signings so far to six.

  19. Gateshead sign Sunderland youngster Laverypublished at 19:00 BST 25 June

    Gateshead have signed defender Tommy Lavery from Sunderland on a two-year deal.

    The 20-year-old, who plays primarily at right-back, joined the Black Cats academy at the age of nine but did not make a senior competitive appearance.

    Lavery spent the 2025-26 season on loan at NIFL Premiership side Cliftonville and then National League club Halifax Town, where he made nine appearances in all competitions.

    "I know what the National League is like now. I know how to win games," Lavery told the Tynesiders' club website.

    "I feel like I've got experience in the game from last year, so I 100% know what we need to do this year and I'll help the team as much as possible."

    Barrow have completed the signing of defender Paul Kalambayi from Dagenham & Redbridge.

    The 26-year-old began his career with AFC Wimbledon, spending eight seasons with the club and making 88 appearances in League One and League Two before joining the Daggers in June 2024.

    During his two-season spell there, he spent the first half of last term on loan with Kidderminster Harriers in National League North, playing under Barrow boss Adam Murray.

    His temporary move ended before Harriers went on to clinch promotion via the play-offs.

    "PK's game suits the way that we want to play. He's a really physical, aggressive, ball-winning defender," assistant boss Andy Taylor said., external

    "He's used to playing the way the gaffer wants to play, which I think is a big plus."

    Kalambayi is the ninth new signing this summer for the Bluebirds and the second to have played for Kidderminster after the arrival of defender George Walker.

    Strikers Alex Reid and Olly Crankshaw, full-backs Marcel Oakley and Danny Amos as well as defenders Kennedy Digie and Xavier Benjamin and midfielder Isaac Marriott.
