Has MVG been given -6 legs and Littler +1? Doesn't seem fair

    Alex, Plymouth

That's correct, Alex. That's the standard outcome, plus two points for the person who receives a bye, when a player withdraws.

A reminder that players are split on points, nights won and matches won before we go to leg difference.

Gian van Veen talking to Sky Sports: "It is going well, especially the first week in Newcastle, which was very good. Last week was maybe a bit disappointing. It is tough field but I'm really enjoying it so far.

"Stephen is a fantastic player. You always want to play well and if you average more than 100 then you'll give yourself a chance."

It has been far from a perfect start in this year's Premier League for Stephen Bunting.

He was beaten 6-4 by Jonny Clayton last time out, having been leading 4-0.

In the first week, Bunting was 2-0 up against Michael van Gerwen but went on to lose 6-2.

Will the man who finished bottom last year get his first points this evening as he takes on debutant Gian van Veen in the quarter-finals?

Van Veen narrowly lost in the first round last Thursday, as he was defeated 6-5 by night winner Gerwyn Price, but he reached the final on night one.

Josh Rock got what he deserved last week - as a darts player you don't wash your hands with soap! He's learnt the hard way.

He's on the back foot now. Like Stephen Bunting, they need a win and they need a win tonight.

    Humphries v Rock

    Wayne Mardle
Former World Matchplay finalist on Sky Sports

Luke Humphries is playing the best darts on the planet at the moment. Nobody is playing more consistent darts than him.

Everyone is so beatable in this format and Luke Littler hasn't played as well as Humphries so far for me.

Humphries is so difficult to beat. He is an absolute beast. You are not going to play mediocre and beat him.

Gerwyn Price is looking amazing. His rhythm and his timing is unbelievable at the moment.

He said to me at the weekend that he knows he is playing well. He is playing so well.

  18. How things standpublished at 19:07 GMT 19 February

Michael van Gerwen, who has pulled out of tonight's action, currently tops the standings.

He won night one and reached the final last week, losing to Gerwyn Price - who is now up to second.

Getting the points in the bag is important so it could be a disaster in the end for the Michael van Gerwen.

Luke Littler has had a right result.

I hope Van Gerwen is on the mend and is better for next week and beyond.

It is disappoing for Michael van Gerwen, for us and for this unbelievable crowd.

The match between would him and Luke Littler would have been spellbinding.

It is intriguing what difference it has made to the league table already.
