Van Gerwen likes the format of the Premier League. It suits his game.

Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price have won a World Cup together for Wales but will go head-to-head tonight for a place in the final.

But who are you backing? Let us know who you think will join Michael van Gerwen in tonight's final.

  5. Deserved win for Van Gerwenpublished at 20:48 GMT 12 February

    Littler 4-6 Van Gerwen

Michael van Gerwen was impressive in that one and certainly deserved the win on the stats - averaging over 100 while Luke Littler was down on 95, while he also hit four 180s against just one from the world champion.

Littler wasn't quite on it tonight, but where Luke Humphries missed his doubles to let him off the hook, Van Gerwen was much better on the outer ring to make sure there was no escape act this time.

Are we seeing a resurgence for Mighty Mike? Two finals out of two so far.

  6. Van Gerwen wins it!published at 20:43 GMT 12 February

    Littler 4-6 Van Gerwen

Another 180 for Michael van Gerwen, who despite missing a fat number then manages to hit double 16 to see-off Luke Littler and make back-to-back finals to start his Premier League campaign.

It is the position that every player would want to be in, except for the fact that he's only managed to hold once in this match.

  8. Huge miss by Littlerpublished at 20:42 GMT 12 February

    Littler 4-5 Van Gerwen

Luke Littler hits his first 180 of the match, and although Michae van Gerwen answers with his own, he can't hit double 16 for a break.

Amazingly though, Littler misses three darts and double six and MVG can return to hit double eight for yet another break and the lead. He's just one away on his own throw - but holds have been hard to come by...

  9. Littler level againpublished at 20:40 GMT 12 February

    Littler 4-4 Van Gerwen

As he seemingly always does, Luke Littler responds, but with a little help from Michael van Gerwen who fluffs his lines from 181 and doesn't take anywhere near enough out of it to stand a chance upon his return.

    All square again.

Michael van Gerwen against throw has been exceptional. At this point as a player you're just thinking "we're getting to the business end, just hold your throw".

  11. Van Gerwen back in frontpublished at 20:38 GMT 12 February

    Littler 3-4 Van Gerwen

Michael van Gerwen this time leaves himself with 170 - he can't finish but does leave himself with 74 and when he takes that out for an 11-darter that's another break of throw and moves the Dutchman ahead.

And he has the darts, can he stretch the lead?

  12. Missed chance for MVGpublished at 20:36 GMT 12 February

    Littler 3-3 Van Gerwen

Michael van Gerwen has a shot at double 16 for the leg but he's miles off and you can't miss chances like that against Luke Littler, especially when he can get to double 10, his favourite, with two darts in his hand.

    He was never missing.

    Littler 2-3 Van Gerwen

    Laura Turner

That is a great response from Michael van Gerwen.

At this particular point, he is averaging just in excess of 109. It is a big performance.

  14. MVG with a 10 darter!published at 20:35 GMT 12 February

    Littler 2-3 Van Gerwen

Michael van Gerwen hits the first 180 of the match and follows up with a 171 - but uh oh Luke Littler is sat on 170 and we all know how he loves to reel in the big fish..

He hits the two treble 20s but just misses the Bull by a whisker, and MVG can return to hit double eight for a 10-dart leg. Brilliant.

  15. Van Gerwen answers backpublished at 20:34 GMT 12 February

    Littler 2-2 Van Gerwen

Lovely stuff from Michael van Gewen as he levels us up at 2-2 thanks to a patient finish - turning down a shot at the Bull with Luke Littler miles back and he's very comfortable as he trurns to the oche to hit double 16 first time.

  16. Littler leads with a 107 checkoutpublished at 20:32 GMT 12 February

    Littler 2-1 Van Gerwen

Luke Littler looks a lot more settled than he did at the start of his quarter-final against Luke Humphries, as he couples some heavy scoring with a tidy 107 finish to hold his throw this time and take the lead for the first time.

    Laura Turner

We know the levels Michael has got, we know the competitiveness. He wasn't getting a lot back from Josh Rock and when you are in that scenario it's sometimes hard to produce some of your best stuff.

  18. Littler levels with a breakpublished at 20:30 GMT 12 February

    Littler 1-1 Van Gerwen

MVG just misses double 16 for a 110 outshot and that allows Luke Littler to step up and easily pin 52 on tops to break right back and level this one up.

  19. Opening break for Van Gerwenpublished at 20:29 GMT 12 February

    Littler 0-1 Van Gerwen

A ton after nine left by Michael van Gerwen and he's left with three darts in his hand and double 10 left to find.

He takes all three but when he pins it he goes 1-0 up with an instant break of the Luke Littler throw.

  20. A gulf in standardpublished at 20:27 GMT 12 February

    Littler v Van Gerwen

    Laura Turner
Ex-Women's World Championship quarter-finalist on Sky Sports

We can go off the first performances because there was a gulf between then in terms of their standard, but just because you play so well in the first match doesn't mean you'll play as well in match number two.
