    Littler 1-0 Humphries

    Quick start for Luke Littler.

He hits tops at the first time of asking to get the early hold after Luke Humphries had just turned up the heat with a 180 set-up.

Walk-ons done, a nice embrace between the two finalists and we just about ready to go.

Who will come out on top in Aberdeen?

I'm hoping that Luke Humphries sticks with this slower approach regardless of the result in this final.

He has looked more composed. I really like how he looks now.

He wasn't out of sync at all and he knows what he needs to do.

The last thing you want to see in the final is Luke Littler.

    Littler v Humphries

Hopefully not too long until this final gets under way. Word is that Luke Littler won on the bull so will throw first.

Given how tight matches between these two have been, potentially having the darts for the deciding leg could prove very important.

Luke Humphries is not used to winning in this year's Premier League.

I did wonder if he might struggle to get over the finish line but there was none of it.

It has been a difficult Premier League for him, but he may get away with it. When I say that, if he wins tonight, he is in such a good position then. It could be such a confidence booster for him.

    Result: Van Veen 3-6 Humphries

    Another high-class game of darts!

Luke Humphries finishes with an average of 101.80, marginally less than Gian van Veen's 102.67.

Van Veen hit five 180s to Humphries' three and his checkout percentage was 75%.

But Humphries' finishing was much better, he was at 50% - and that big 160 out proved the defining moment of that semi-final.

Efficient and controlled and patient and brilliant from Luke Humphries.

He has taken out both of the guys in front of him in the table.

Is tonight a decisive night for the defending champion to really get going in this year's tournament?

    Breaking

    Van Veen 3-6 Humphries

Luke Humphries is through to just his second Premier League final this year - it's another huge win for the defending champion.

He had the darts and bossed the leg from the off. With Gian van Veen lagging behind, a couple of missed doubles aren't costly and Humphries hits double eight to win.

We've got another battle of the Lukes coming up in the final!

    That is absolutely brilliant.

The finish was great, but the second dart that went above the treble 20 in the previous visit, has set that up.

  13. Humphries takes out 160!published at 21:52 BST 30 April

    Van Veen 3-5 Humphries

    Stunning from Luke Humphries!

That's the player we saw storm to the world title and then claim the Premier League trophy last year.

Gian van Veen had left himself double 18 but Humphries doesn't give him a look at as he takes out 160 like it's the simplest thing in the world.

Humphries scoring is good but it’s when he comes down to the doubles he gets in trouble - fix that and he’ll be cruising back in the mix

    Van Veen 3-4 Humphries

Luke Humphries looks on, so does Gian van Veen.

Cool Hand hits 137 to leave double eight, only for Van Veen to follow up with a 180 to leave double three.

    No mistake from Humphries, though.

This one looks like it could go the distance.

Things just haven't gone Luke Humphries' way for the duration of the Premier League.

He may just thinking 'are you kidding me?'.

  17. Postpublished at 21:49 BST 30 April

    Van Veen 3-3 Humphries

    Brilliant from Gian van Veen.

He somehow slides the third dart into the treble 20 for the 180 to leave 61 and takes it out with a minimum of fuss.

    All square once more.

    Van Veen 2-3 Humphries

    Wayne Mardle
Former World Matchplay finalist on Sky Sports

It is good to see Gian van Veen playing like this. It is way better than anything he's produced in the past six or seven weeks. He looks really comfortable actually.

  19. Postpublished at 21:47 BST 30 April

    Van Veen 2-3 Humphries

Luke Humphries needs a treble to leave a decent finish, finds it and then calmly goes treble 20, double 10 to hold.

Good stuff from the world number two.

  20. Postpublished at 21:45 BST 30 April

    Van Veen 2-2 Humphries

Having talked up Luke Humphries, he has an off leg and Gian van Veen levels it up with ease.

Tops hit and it's all square.
