Even though England are not going to win this Test match. You want them to show character right up to the very end.

  2. Aus 29-0published at 4 overs

Travis Head follows up that six by crunching Gus Atkinson through the covers for four.

    Aktinson responds with three dots.

If this is Australia's 2nd string team, what would have happened if they put their first team out... back to belt and braces again.

Wonderful from Travis Head. He hasn't tried to hit that, but he has flicked it off his pads.

  5. 6 runs

    Aus 25-0published at 3.2 overs

Travis Head with a lovely pick up.

He times the proverbial out of an over-pitched delivery from Gus Atkinson and nonchalantly flicks it for six over deep square.

I’ve just got a feeling Australia are going to win it from here.

All we need now is for Broady to walk onto the pitch in his whites and rip through this Australian batting line up.

  7. Aus 19-0published at 3 overs

A 93mph delivery from Jofra Archer climbs into Jake Weatherald and he rather fortuitously picks up a boundary with an inside edge over the stumps.

Next ball Archer beats the defensive prod of Weatherald with a piece of high-quality fast bowling which zips through to wicketkeeper Jamie Smith.

Archer then finds the edge of Weatherald's bat with his fourth ball but it does not carry.

Travis Head could make a mockery of this target if he felt like it. Storm Travis.

  9. Aus 15-0published at 2 overs

    Target 65

A wristy flick into the on side from Jake Weatherald off Gus Atkinson's first ball brings him three.

Later in the over, Travis Head scores Australia's first boundary by opening the face and then punching through the covers for four.

A swing and a miss from Head off Atkinson's final delivery brings a flicker of interest from England but otherwise it's relatively easy pickings for the Aussie openers.

There might be a part of Travis Head that might be like, 'Alright then, I might try to finish this before tea.'

  13. Aus 4-0published at 0.3 overs

    Target 65

There's about 20 minutes of play before the dinner break.

Jofra Archer's second delivery to Travis Head from round the wicket is dragged down the leg side and races away for four byes.

    A sloppy start.

England have just come out of their huddle. Victory seems extremely unlikely, but can they land a few blows on Australia with one eye on the third Test in Adelaide?

Australia's Michael Neser, speaking after his five-wicket haul:"It feels good. Still thinking about the runs, but I'm sure I'll cherish this one.

"I love the Gabba, the fans, this is my home, but the Ashes is such an event for Australia and to get a fifer is special.

"A moment I'll never forget have all my family here. My sister is here, and I have not seen her in a year and a half. It is a special moment."

On the key to his bowling: "Consistency. I know this pitch can go flat for a while and all I was thinking was hitting top of off.

"I was fortunate enough to find the edges a couple of times there. I mean that wouldn't have been possible – what Kez [Alex Carey] did and what Steve [Smith] did it was special at the end. I didn't even have to ask Kez to come up, he just does it."
