  1. Lunch at Headingleypublished at 12:57 BST 12 April

    Yorks 177 v Hants 251 & 119-3

The covers are still on although it has stopped raining and lunch will be taken at 13:00 here in Leeds.

Tom Prest and Jake Lehmann are the two not out batsmen with their partnership up to 13 runs.

Just the one wicket has fallen this morning, that of nightwatchman Sonny Baker.

  2. 50 runs

50 for Asa Tribepublished at 12:55 BST 12 April

    Nottinghamshire v Glamorgan 69-1- Target 478

Great counter attacking stuff from Asa Tribe. His half-century is completed in 47 balls as he cuts Josh Tongue for his 10th boundary.

  3. Resumption in Bristolpublished at 12:55 BST 12 April

    Glos 175 & 76-0 v Durham 605-5 dec

The briefest of stoppages in Bristol... the very definition of a passing shower!

  4. Postpublished at 12:52 BST 12 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 429-5

Although they finally managed to prise out Rishi Patel for 164, Surrey haven't yet made the new ball count as Leicestershire continue eating away at the deficit.

It's now down to 91 as Stephen Eskinazi and Ben Cox keep building prior to lunch.

  5. Postpublished at 12:49 BST 12 April

    Essex 149 & 222-8 v Somerset 348

In the scheme of things, it might well be too late for this Essex tail to wag - but Shane Snater and Sam Cook are at least ensuring they don't go without a fight.

Snater has just pulled Craig Overton for a boundary and the slender Essex lead now stands at 23.

  6. Postpublished at 12:48 BST 12 April

    Middx 19-0 – Target 262

As assured as Josh de Caires has looked at the other end, Sam Robson has been a bit sketchy.

He got his first boundary through the slip cordon off Tom Taylor and now has been beaten reaching for one outside off stump with his feet anchored.

That could easily have taken an edge.

  7. Back on at Old Traffordpublished at 12:44 BST 12 April

    Lancs 351 v Derbys 263-4

Lunch is going to be taken at 13:15 which gives Lancs a half-hour stab at backing up the new ball wicket from Jimmy Anderson.

Martin Andersson was a decent dismissal and not only because it was a perfect outswinger from the Lancs captain.

The 29-year-old kicked off the season in fine style with 228 last week against Worcs and looked in good nick on his way to 54.

  8. Match in the balance at Hovepublished at 12:44 BST 12 April

    Sussex 204 v Warwickshire 267 & 217-8

This is a cracking match at Hove. After losing three wickets for six runs Warwickshire's ninth wicket pair have managed to push the lead up to 280.

Michael Booth and winter-signing Jordan Thompson have hit a pair of boundaries each adding 21 valuable runs so far.

  9. Postpublished at 12:43 BST 12 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 425-5

We still have bonus points up for grabs in the next 10 overs and Leicestershire should feel fairly confident of adding the 25 runs they still need for a full complement of five in this innings.

Surrey need one more wicket for another bowling point - or four wickets for two, if they're feeling optimistic.

  10. rain stops play

Rain stops play in Bristolpublished at 12:42 BST 12 April

    Glos 175 & 76-0 v Durham 605-5 dec

Rain is coming down and a cover is coming on.

The players head off, not sure if this will be too long.

Cameron Bancrof and Ben Charlesworth are going well in the second knock, reducing arrears to 354.

  11. Postpublished at 12:41 BST 12 April

    Middx 17-0 - Target 262

Josh de Caires starts in a positive fashion clipping Oli Hannon-Dalby off his legs for four, driving him firmly through mid off in his second over and then punching another through point.

The Middx opener has begun this chase in positive fashion.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:39 BST 12 April

    Byrom c Patterson-White b Tongue 9 (Nottinghamshire v Glamorgan 54-1 - Target 478)

Great ball from Josh Tongue. The England bowler who took 18 wickets in three Ashes tests in the winter, bowls a very quick bouncer.

Eddie Byrom takes evasive action but can only loop the ball up to slip.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:38 BST 12 April

    Harmer lbw b Shaw 20 (Essex 149 & 203-8 v Somerset 348)

Josh Shaw hadn't really found his line consistently, but he produces a beauty to nip back and pin Simon Harmer in front of his stumps.

Harmer trudges off with Essex in front - by a mere four runs. Can skipper Sam Cook help Shane Snater extend that to something more significant?

I watched Worcestershire at 7 different venues in the Championship last summer and didn’t see them win. Could today be the day?

    Craig Nicholson at Lord's

We are going to find out this afternoon, Craig. They are probably slight favourites.

  16. Lunch at Canterburypublished at 12:35 BST 12 April

    Kent 119-6 v Northants 684-2 dec

No cricket this morning in the garden of England because of the rain, thus completing Kent's best session of the match, so far.

So what to do when you can't play cricket? Take an early lunch, of course!

  17. Spectacle wearing cricketerspublished at 12:35 BST 12 April

    Glamorgan 53-0. Target 478 v Nottinghamshire

The commentators at Trent Bridge are discussing spectacle wearing cricketers as Asa Tribe shines for Glamorgan.

Jack Leach and David Steele have been mentioned. Any others anyone?

  18. 50 runs

    50 partnershippublished at 12:30 BST 12 April

    Nottinghamshire v Glamorgan 50-0 - Target 478

They still have a long way to go but as Asa Tribe turns one round to mid wicket for a two Glamorgan bring up 50 for the first wicket between him and Eddie Byrom.

Tribe has dominated the partnership. The Jersey-born, spectacle wearing 22-year-old has hit eight fours.

  19. Back on at The Ovalpublished at 12:29 BST 12 April

    Surrey 520 v Leics 417-5

Thankfully, the rain stoppage was a short one - the sun is back out and so are the players.

We'll resume with Sean Abbott delivering the second ball of his over to Ben Cox.

  20. 200 runs

200 up for Warwickshirepublished at 12:26 BST 12 April

    Sussex 204 v Warwickshire 267 & 200-8

Ollie Robinson pitches one short to Michael Booth who pulls it to the boundary to extend the Bears lead to 263.

    Good match this one,
