Beth Mooney must be incredibly annoying to play against.

    A class act.

Beth Mooney reaches a 29-ball fifty, which has been overshadowed a bit by Gardner's recent display.

All of Australia's batters have contributed at some point in this tournament.

Oh, I didn't realise this match started early and is pretty much over now. Why is the other semi final two days later and with a later start time? Surely it'd be fairer to play them both today, or at least have the other at the same time tomorrow?

    Iain, Wokingham

The game was scheduled to suit TV schedules in India, Iain. That's why India would have played in this game whether they finished first or second in their pool. Ultimately, they didn't qualify.

    Target 126

Australia are showing why they are so formidable.

Ellyse Perry goes off injured, one of the world's finest all-rounders, and yet it's barely registered.

Ash Gardner comes out and blitzes her way to 20 off 10 balls. Sigh.

Up and over cover, four more!

We're seeing the best of both Gardner and Mooney here.

I don't think Afy Fletcher will be feeling too confident about that.

There was no spin at all which allowed Ash Gardner to come down and clear it.

  7. 6 runs

    Aus 89-2published at 9.2 overs

Ash Gardner is one of the most powerful ball-strikers in the women's game and that's on full display here.

She skips down the pitch and hammers the straightest of sixes all the way down the ground.

  8. Aus 81-2published at 9 overs

    Target 126

Just a reminder that because Ellyse Perry retired hurt, she could come back out to bat if required.

But with Australia's ridiculous batting depth, and the fact that they are only 45 runs from victory, it seems quite unlikely that they'll need that.

A modest target, but Ash Gardner is exactly who Australia would have wanted out in the middle to finish this off - in T20 World Cup chases, she averages an impressive 54.25.

  10. Aus 78-2published at 8.3 overs

Just as it had started to go a little quiet, Ash Gardner absolutely nails one through the covers as Alleyne offers too much width.

    That was crunched.

We're told Ellyse Perry has gone off with "quad awareness", whatever that means.

She's obviously carrying something there that she's not feeling comfortable about.

    Oh, what's this?

Ellyse Perry has retired hurt at the end of that over after taking the quick single. She doesn't appear to be limping extravagantly, but has walked off with the physio.

Ash Gardner replaces her in the middle with Beth Mooney, and they rotate singles off Afy Fletcher's first over.

Just one run off the over as Perry steals a single.

Frustration for West Indies, though - they needed that kind of discipline at the beginning of the innings.

  15. Aus 63-2published at 6.4 overs

Aaliyah Alleyne starts her spell with four dot balls to Ellyse Perry, which are applauded by The Oval crowd...

It's just about making sure you get the job done and Australia are being dominant, showing why they're ranked the best team in the world and feared by many teams.

    They're just cruising along.

Australia are making light work of this.

They've been a class apart here today.

    Brutal.

West Indies' body language is already completely deflated.

Hayley Matthews puts an arm around the shoulder of her young bowler as Mooney chops another two boundaries past point to conclude a very productive Australian powerplay.

West Indies had 35-0 at the end of theirs.

Beth Mooney also looks in good touch here, although she is being gifted a fair few of her runs.

Two short balls from Jahzara Claxton are put away with ease, the first punched through the covers and the second is pulled firmly over the leg side.

Australia cruise past 50 having barely broken a sweat.

Sorry Saj (16:36), I'm not seeing it. South Africa have too much firepower and England haven't been fully tested as yet. England have the batting, but not sure the bowlers have the steel when under pressure.
