I really feel for Lister there because she got into the right position and what she was trying to do was correct, but she just doesn't get the connection.

  3. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18.5 overs

    Lister b Alleyne 33 (Sco 137-7)

Is that the end of Scotland's hopes? Another wicket for Aliyah Alleyne as Aisla Lister attempts a scoop and the ball clatters into middle stump.

I was so convinced that was two, I was looking at the batters!

  5. Sco 137-6published at 18.2 overs

Scotland need 17 from 9 balls

What has happened here? A misfield from Jahzara Claxton on the boundary gifts four more to Scotland. So poor.

Darcy Carter, even though she got 50, will be disappointed - she was motoring in the powerplay but really slowed down. She's got her team close but it's down to the tail now.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18.1 overs

    Carter c & b Alleyne (Sco 132-6)

A huge blow for Scotland as Darcey Carter skies it for a simple caught and bowled chance for Aaliyah Alleyne.

Cater looks visibly upset as she slowly makes her way back to the dugout.

We're not quite sure what is going on but an emotional Deandra Dottin appears to be in tears before the last couple balls in her over. She's staying on the field, though.

I think Hayley Matthews was banking on Deandra Dottin to bowl the final over but I doubt that is a sensible decision now.

  10. Sco 131-5published at 17.4 overs

Darcey Carter cuts it for four! She lets out a huge smile.

We could have a grandstand finish now!

  12. Sco 127-5published at 17.2 overs

Scotland need 27 off 16 balls

More runs! A big swing from Aisla Fisher and the outside edge sends the ball looping over a short third for four.

    The 50 partnership is up.

Dottin hasn't set the field for yorkers but I don't think that matters for her.

  14. Sco 121-5published at 17 overs

    Scotland need 32 off 18

Deandre Dottin returns and starts with three wides.

This is beginning to look a little bit more doable for Scotland.

I think Scotland will be frustrated because they were in a good position - it's a shame they lost four quick wickets. They were 51-0 off five and then got 50 off 10 overs and lost five wickets.

  16. Sco 119-5published at 17 overs

Scotland need 35 off 18 balls

Aisla Lister has given Scotland some hope but Darcey Carter looks a shadow of her earlier self as she struggles to get Qiana Joseph away.

This is the bowler Scotland have to target!

  18. 6 runs

    Sco 118-5published at 16.3 over

Do we have another twist in this? Ailsa Lister charges down the wicket and whacks it back past the bowler for six.

  19. Sco 112-5published at 16.1 overs

Qiana Joseph - just as she did in her previous over - begins with a no-ball.

Ailsa Lister makes the most of the free-hit by clubbing it for four. That's more like it.

Yes, she's got 50 for Scotland in a home World Cup against the West Indies but she was on about 19 off four balls so she will be a little disappointed with herself.
