England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt won the toss and surprisingly chose to bowl first in scorching conditions at Lord's.

India opener Smriti Mandhana hit a sparkling 83 (108) while there were also half-centuries for Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma.

But England recovered from a shaky opening session - India were 122-3 at lunch - to restrict the visitors to 285, with the final seven wickets falling for 95 runs.

Sophie Ecclestone claimed 3-68 while Lauren Filer (2-40) and Issy Wong (2-41) were the pick of the pace bowlers.

Facing a tricky 11 overs in the final hour, England closed on 21-1, having lost Tammy Beaumont for two on her final international appearance.
