This is the third time Alice Capsey has scored a T20I fifty in 30 balls or fewer, bettered by only Danni Wyatt-Hodge (six times) and matched by Nat Sciver-Brunt (also three times).

I think Alice Capsey has played herself into the starting XI for the first game of the World Cup. Before this summer we thought she would make way for Nat Sciver-Brunt when she returns but that cannot happen now.

    There's the half century!

Alice Capsey brings up her fifty from 27 balls, taking a single to mid-on.

A superb innings thus far from the England number four, featuring seven fours and one six.

Finally! Some big hitting from England, and a bit more of the Heather Knight we know and love. Even if they lose this game, this is the fight I’ve wanted to see.

The way Alice Capsey has developed her game with her shot selection, power and athleticism is clear to see. She is in fine form and it's the perfect time for England before a World Cup.

These are pleasing signs from Heather Knight - she is showing intent and the ball is coming off the middle of the bat.

India bring back opening bowler Arundhati Reddy and Heather Knight cracks her over the covers for four.

The former England captain is rattling along with a strike rate over 160.

Sree Charani takes us out of the drinks break, and it's a good over with only five singles.

The third of those, knocked towards mid-wicket by Alice Capsey, brings up England's hundred off 64 balls.

India have had no answers to Alice Capsey - she's moved around the crease, played well off the back foot and run well between the wickets. India are on the back foot here.

While the players take a break, a touch of light relief from the end of the India innings.

Although England won't be laughing if that extra run proves decisive.

India bring on Shafali Verma to try and stem the tide - she hasn't bowled yet in this series so this is a bit of an off-beat move.

England take seven runs, with no boundaries, off the off-break bowler as we reach the half way mark and drinks.

India were 94-3 at this point.

Amy Jones did not move her feet to any ball she faced. Dreadful technique.

This is really positive from this England pairing.

India bring back seam with Nandni Sharma, and Heather Knight, who has faced questions about her strike-rate, sends her for four through third.

Alice Capsey then moves into the forties by finding a gap between two fielders at mid-wicket.

That's the 50 partnership up from 23 balls.

Neil (20:29) may well be correct - but it looks like Charlotte Edwards is going to open with Wyatt-Hodge and Dunkley come what may. Matt Henry rather scoffed at my suggestion of Tammy Beaumont the other day, but how about Davina Perrin?

Spin at both ends now as Deepti Sharma comes into the attack.

Alice Capsey continues to motor, firing her sixth four through long-on, before Heather Knight reverse sweeps her second.

Alice Capsey has been exceptional inside the powerplay this summer scoring 68 off 48 at a strike-rate of 141 - the rest of England's batting line-up have scored just 145 runs off the remaining 144 balls.

This reminds me of the innings Alice Capsey had against Australia in the 2023 Ashes. She's in such control.

The fielders have gone back, but England are still breaching the ropes.

Heather Knight hits her first boundary, sweeping spinner Sree Charani square before Alice Capsey hits her fourth consecutive boundary, crunching the ball through mid-wicket.

She moves to 31 off 12 balls at the end of the over, meanwhile England's worm moves above India's - their 66-3 a little more than India's 63-2 at this stage.

It's such a good shot - to be able to hit that for six is such a good shot. It's the shot of the day for me.

    Six, four, four!

Alice Capsey finishes the powerplay in style, punishing the bowling of Kranti Gaud.

She clears the ropes at extra cover with a powerful drive, strikes another boundary through long-on, then brings up England's fifty by whipping the ball to the mid-wicket fence.

For the record, India were 57-2 at the end of the powerplay.
