    New batter Benny Howell improvises nicely to hit a four to deep backward square.

    He then lofts one over fine leg for six with a ramp shot. Howell's ability to hit into unusual areas proves very welcome.

    Hampshire score 11 more runs than they did in the group game against Essex which they won by 30 runs.

    Home skipper James Vince was dropped on 46 by Simon Harmer and made them pay with a brilliant 125.

    He was well supported by Toby Albert (22) and Joe Weatherley (46) who was also dropped.

    A tough one for Essex to win from here - Hampshire may feel they have one foot in a record 12th finals day.

    Brilliant stuff from Chris Jordan as he claims two wickets and gives up only four runs from the over.

    The T20 specialist has 3-13 from three overs.

    That was vintage James Vince for you and he's pulled it out at a time when Hampshire needed him. Well, there's always a time when Hampshire need him and especially today when they're looking to make Finals Day.

    Absolutely terrific stuff from him and it was just four short of his all-time top score for Hampshire which was 129.
