USA gave India a little bit of fright the last time these two sides met at a pop-up stadium on a slightly iffy track in New York. Well, Long Island, really.

India were 10-2 after USA took a coupe of early wickets before chasing down 111 for victory.

Suspect this one in Mumbai might pan out a little differently.

Hello from the Wankhede where we have already had an opening ceremony, a man on a jetpack, some rappers, a lot of drummer, Ravi Shastri in full Ravi Shastri mode at the toss and Rohit Sharma with the trophy.

I must say, with moments to go before the first ball, the ground is not quite full.

One name missing from the India team sheet is Jasprit Bumrah.

The BCCI have posted on X that Bumrah "was unavailable for selection" for the opening fixture against USA "due to illness".

This India team is very different from the one which lifted the title in Barbados. There's been a lot of turnover but they remain star-studded.
