    Ian, Leighton Buzzard

Sam Curran proving why he shouldn't be anywhere near a position of responsibility. 12 runs needed just see it out. Nonsense cricket.

Really good catch by the teenager, the ball was really travelling and he had to jump to get it.

    There is hope for India.

Sam Curran should have been the face of English cricket, none of this Harry Brook/Jacob Bethell nonsense.

This is the first time Will Jacks has been dismissed while playing the reverse sweep in T20s. He doesn’t often play the shot, having attempted it just 13 times in his career, scoring 26 runs at a strike rate of 200.

  16. Eng 142-5published at 16 overs

Drilled by Jacob Bethell off the penultimate ball of Varun Chakaravarthy's over.

The left-hander hammers a powerful straight drive - Lance Klusner-esque - straight as a die for four.

People are suggesting that Sam Curran could replace Ben Stokes as England's all-rounder, and I agree with them. Not for what he does in T20 but because there are few other options. He could even be considered for the captain's role.

    Steve, Leyburn

Re: Curran for Stokes. Why not Rehan Ahmed? A proper bat and as a spinner has actually got plenty of county experience, unlike Shoaib Bashir. Then we can pick our best four quicks, with Gus Atkinson a very decent number eight. Looks balanced to me - more so than with Curran and Bashir.

    Evan, Italy

Still don't understand why Curran is not in Test side. Brilliant all rounder.

    Jack, Cornwall

  18. Eng 137-5published at 15.3 overs

Sam Curran is England's new batter and he edges a cut shot off Varun Chakaravarthy fine for four.
