It's the news that everyone was waiting for. It's been going on since the series against Ireland when Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was named in the squad - when is he going to make his debut. Now he's the youngest man to play cricket for India and it's a great story.

You need three things a cricketer. Skill, which he's got. Temperament, which we've seen at U19s and in the IPL that he can take pressure. The third is the fitness bit and he looks like a teenager, and that's something he needs to work on.

He is in on merit. He's broken down the door down and forced the team managers and selectors to pick him.

  6. 'Done our homework on Sooryavanshi'published at 14:26 BST 4 July

England captain Harry Brook: "We'd have had a bat as well. We're all looking forward to getting out there and playing against a strong Indian side.

"We're pretty happy with the team selections. Jofra Archer coming back in, he's a strong player for us. Josh Tongue has been knocking the door down for a while now and I think it's the right time to give him an opportunity.

"They are both skillful bowlers and have pretty good slower balls as well. They have the ability to deliver yorkers and hit their lengths so it's good to have two fast bowlers in the side and with good skills as well."

On plans for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi: "We've done a little bit of homework. We have some tactical decisions we've thinking about so it's about executing them when we are out there."

  7. 'Sooryanavashi deserves his chance'published at 14:24 BST 4 July

India captain Shreyas Iyer: "The way he has been batting, smashing and taking on the bowlers shows his confidence. He completely deserves to be in after the last couple of months.

"He has that unflinching nature and it is so good to have him around. He has a calm demeanor and the way he tales on the bowlers in the nets shows the character he is."

England make two changes from the side that played at Chester-le-Street, with Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue replacing Saqib Mahmood and Luke Wood. Tongue is making his international T20 debut, and both were last in action on Monday in the test at Trent Bridge.

England XI: Jos Buttler, Phil Salt, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook (capt), Tom Banton, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Liam Dawson, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Josh Tongue.

Big, big news from India - Vaibhav Sooryavanshi makes his much-anticipated debut for his country. He replaces Sanju Samson in the only change from Wednesday. At 15, he becomes the youngest India international debutant ever.

Fully expect the noise inside Old Trafford to go up to 11 (and possibly beyond) when he's in the action - which will be pretty soon.

India: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan (wk), Shreyas Iyer (capt), Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Varun Chakravarthy

  9. Toss - India win toss and batpublished at 14:20 BST 4 July

    England v India (14:30 BST)

Shreyas Iyer called tails correctly, although the coin got caught in the stiff breeze forcing the two skippers to chase after it, and decided to bat. For the record, Harry Brook has told Mike Atherton that he would have done the same.

    England v India (14:30 BST)

    Hello, good afternoon, and welcome!

We're all set for this T20 series to properly get going after Wednesday's washout at Chester-le-Street, and the good news is that it's currently cloudy but bright and warm, so fingers crossed we get a full game in today.
