Summary

Have your say on England men this summer

  1. Eng 110-4published at 16 overs

Joe Root edges the final delivery of Will O'Rouke's over.

The Yorkshireman throws his hands at a drive and thick edge which goes over the top of the Kiwi cordon and races away for four.

Will O'Rourke starts for New Zealand.

His second delivery is flicked square for a couple by Emilio Gay.

I hope Emilio Gay and Joe Root just play and bat for two or three hours.

Right, there's still the fifth day of Test match to get through despite this Test turning into Ben Stokes' leaving do.

Joe Root and Emilio Gay are unbeaten on nine and six respectively. England are 103-4 with the target 373.

They are just striding out to the middle at Trent Bridge.

I doubt the ECB have flown in Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman for Ben Stokes' farewell today.

Stokes himself dodged questions in the build up to this Test about whether he felt support from the ECB given the events of the previous fortnight.

There's still quite a few unanswered questions relating to the 35-year-old all-rounder's decision to step away.

  7. Stokes' Sundaypublished at 10:50 BST 29 June

It was certainly an eventful day for Ben Stokes yesterday.

A wicket moments after the news of his retirement became public, a guard of honour from New Zealand's players when he opened the batting followed by a chaotic final innings.

All good things come to end, right?

Ben Stokes has retired from international cricket. He'll not be playing an active part in the game on the field today having been dismissed in his final Test innings on Sunday evening.

But Trent Bridge will want to give a send off to one of English cricket's greatest players regardless.
