    Leics 187 & 318-6 (f/o) v Essex 401

Ben Green goes on to the back foot and slaps Charlie Bennett to the boundary with a flamboyant flourish.

The stroke takes the leicestershire lead into three figures.

Another attacking shot brings two more and moves the hosts 104 in front. A good over for the hosts.

Who is keeping wicket for Somerset today? Thomas- or has James borrowed his sweater?!

    Henry, Chard

It is indeed 18-year-old Thomas Rew keeping wicket, Henry, as we just saw in even closer detail as he took that catch from Craig Overton's bowling to dismiss Freddie McCann.

His brother James Rew is off the field at the moment.

    Northants 465 v Gloucs 268 & 233-7 (f/o)

Raphy Weatherall slides a beaut of a delivery past the edge of Daz Ahmed's bat.

He then strays down the legside and it ricochets off his pad down for four.

Then a big waft outside off-stump as the ball narrowly evades Ahmed's edge for the second time.

Spin time as Calvin Harrison is back into the attack.

  4. Six overs to go at New Roadpublished at 18:06 BST 14 June

    Worcs 265 & 24-1 v Middx 339 & 283-6 dec

It's getting a bit gloomy now at New Road which is the only county HQ without floodlights.

The county can't put permanent lights in for various reasons.

Dan Lategan has run a couple of threes after nice drives down the ground.

If the light holds Middlesex have six overs left to try to add another wicket tonight after running out Jake Libby backing up earlier.

This is turning into a useful evening session for Somerset.

Freddie McCann edges off Craig Overton and the day just gets better for Thomas Rew, who has the gloves on instead of brother James and takes the catch.

T Rew scored 68 in the first innings, 127* in the second and now he's keeping wicket. Is there anything he can't do?

Well played Kent but Lancs are simply not up to scratch at present. The armament and the coaches behind the scenes need to step up

    Tom, Kendal

Just when you think the season can’t get any worse, Lancs, with 5 internationals in the team, get humiliated against a team in transition. What has happened to our great club?

    Leics 187 & 309-6 (f/o) v Essex 401

Here's a stat for you. Leicestershire have never won following on.

We're certainly a long way from that as it is, and I'm sure the draw is the aim at the moment, but that would be some history to be made.

The pitch certainly seems to have quietened down.

Simon Harmer adds to his workload with his 38th over of the innings and 56th of the match.

Lewis Hill picks up a single to move to 60 before Ben Green bottom-edges a ball which kept very low through wicketkeeper Michael Pepper for four. It nudges the lead to 95.

It's all over at Stanley Park and Kent have clinched a dominant victory inside three days.

The final act is for Jimmy Anderson to spoon one up to Bertie Foreman who takes a simple catch.

Cast your mind back to day one when Kent were bowled out for 178 and this win didn't seem likely.

But Keith Dudgeon's 6-21 to help skittle Lancashire for 87 made it all very possible before Kent amassed a lead of 424 when they were 332 all out in their second innings.

A Chris Benjamin century and 83 for Harry Finch set Lancashire the task of chasing down a club record target - one which they fell 140 runs short of.

Hasan Mahmud takes 6-69 in the Lancashire second innings and nine wickets in the match on debut.

All in all, a fine display by Kent.

A nice shot by Freddie McCann as he plays it late and whips it away for four with a drive square of the wicket from Jake Ball.

  10. Warwickshire half way to the closepublished at 17:53 BST 14 June

    Warwickshire 263 & 31-0 v Yorkshire 469 & 246-6

Seven and a half overs gone, seven and a half to go. Warwickshire are half way to the close of play with Alex Davies 13 and Rob Yates 14.

Yorkshire will be anxious to get something before tonight.

Jimmy Anderson is at the crease for Lancashire and pulls out the reverse sweep to Matt Parkinson and smashes it straight into Keith Dudgeon at leg slip.

That might be a sore one but it's stopped a certain boundary.

    Clarke c Bartlett b Sales 22 (Northants 465 v Gloucs 268 & 221-7 (f/o))

    Gloucestershire lose another!

Kristian Clarke had been playing well, but falls into a trap laid by James Sales and goes for 22.

He goes after the short ball but holes out in the deep as a top-edge finds George Bartlett who takes a good catch.

There's 13 overs in the day, Gloucestershire have three wickets in hand and the lead is just 25.

    Daz Ahmed joins James Bracey.

  13. SUSSEX BEAT GLAMORGAN BY INNS & 98 RUNSpublished at 17:48 BST 14 June
    Breaking

    Sussex 521 v Glamorgan 155 & 268

The final Glamorgan wicket falls and who else could it be but James Coles to take it as Sussex - 23 points - go top of Division One, pending the outcome of other games tomorrow.

The all-rounder bowls Ryan Hadley and follows his superlative double century on Saturday with figures of 3-34.

Glamorgan resisted well earlier in the day, thanks to Asa Tribe (64) and Ben Kellaway (55) but their final four wickets went down for seven runs as Sussex complete their fourth win of the season.

Tom Haines, leading Sussex in place of England's Ollie Robinson, made a vital contribution with a spell of 3-5 from nine overs.

The Somerset substitute does some damage!

Jake Ball, who has replaced the injured skipper Lewis Gregory, finds the edge from Ben Slater and it flies low to Jordan Hermann at first slip to take the catch.

One down, nine to go for the visitors to inflict Nottinghamshire to their first County Championship defeat since May 2025.

    Aspinwall lbw b Parkinson 14 (Lancs 276-9 - target 424)

Not sure this is the best time to be trying to play a reverse sweep...

But Tom Aspinwall does it anyway and it backfires as he's trapped in front by Matt Parkinson.

Kent now need just one more wicket for victory.

  17. 300 runs

300 up for Leicestershirepublished at 17:43 BST 14 June

    Leics 187 & 300-6 (f/o) v Essex 401

It's all a bit quiet in Leicester as Essex look to chip away for a third straight win and Leicestershire continue to grind out a lead.

Ben Green adds a bit of urgency as he takes on a Shane Snater short ball and pulls it down to fine leg for four.

The ball just beats Charlie Bennett's sprawling attempt at a stop.

Green then takes a single off Simon Harmer to bring up 300 in the 106th over as the Foxes move 86 ahead. Good fightback this.

Tom Aspinwall is giving it a good go with the bat for Lancashire.

He swivels and smashes hard for four to the legside boundary off Bertie Foreman.

Aspinwall is now 14* from 33 ball. Marcus Harris has 87 from 168 and needs just 13 more for a ton.

Fair enough, Ben Slater. He pulls it hard off Migael Pretorius with his front foot in the air and it flies all the way for six over mid-wicket.
