  1. NZ 39-6published at 11 overs

Sophie Ecclestone continues to keep a tight grip on proceedings as we exit the drinks break.

Her third over goes for just a couple of singles.

New Zealand have only hit four boundaries in the first 10 overs - three of them came off the bat of opener Izzy Gaze.

The last of those came off the last ball of the fifth over.

England have backed themselves to build these dot balls. New Zealand's batters look up and wonder where their runs are coming from.

  4. drinks break

    NZ 37-6published at 10 overs

Four singles off Issy Wong's third over - Jess Kerr pulls meatily but can only find the fielder on the leg side boundary.

We'll head into drinks with England very much on top.

Brooke Halliday's struggles against Charlie Dean continue in the shortest format. Dean has now dismissed the left-hander on four occasions in T20Is, joint highest along with Sophie Ecclestone as the bowler to dismiss her most often in the format.

Brooke Halliday v Charlie Dean in T20Is:

    • 9 innings
    • 38 runs
    • 4 dismissals
    • 40 balls
    • 9.5 average
    • 95 strike-rate

Maddy Green's shoulders have dropped a bit. She will be so frustrated at seeing some of the shots that have been played today.

There is a lot of responsibility on her now to bat with the lower order. You're caught in between mindsets of knowing you need to score runs, but if it's too high-risk, you know you won't be there at the end.

She can't allow the frustration to take over.

  7. NZ 33-6published at 9 overs

Jess Kerr is the latest New Zealand batter to face the heat, literally and figuratively, out in the middle.

She faces two balls from Sophie Ecclestone without scoring.

It's the arm ball from Sophie Ecclestone, which is very difficult to pick up because of how quickly she bowls it.

I wonder if that game off just gave her a bit of a break and a refresh. This innings has shown how much more control you can get as a bowling side when you remove Sophie Devine cheaply.

Sophie Ecclestone gets in on the action!

She cleans up Izzy Sharp, who gets in a bit of a muddle and gets bowled by the number two bowler in the world.

Ecclestone pumps her fists in delight.

A great review by Charlie Dean and this is a massive test for New Zealand's lower order now. Dean is so accurate and always seems to keep the stumps in play.

England have been proactive and New Zealand just seem a ball behind the game.

    Halliday lbw b Dean 2 (NZ 32-5)

Charlie Dean was right to review!

New Zealand are in all sorts of trouble as all reds flash up on the ball tracking.

Brooke Halliday departs, here's Izzy Sharp.

  14. England reviewpublished at 15:03 BST 25 May

Charlie Dean fancies that she's got another one here.

She strikes Brooke Halliday with the final ball of her over - nothing from Sue Redfearn, but Dean's going to send it upstairs.

    Captain's prerogative

England spinners so far have done really well to keeps the stumps in play with 46% deliveries hitting the stumps.

In the second T20 in Canterbury it dropped to 33%, while it was 48% in Derby.

It was a little bit outside edgy from Sophie Devine. She can't do it time and time again. She did it in the first two games by carrying this New Zealand batting line-up but today she's failed. Now it's all down to Maddy Green and England are in total control of this game.

Sophie Devine is gone for a five-ball duck. It's a sorrowful walk back to the dugout for their key batter and New Zealand are in all sorts of bother now.

  18. wicket

    Devine c Ecclestone b Gibson 0 (NZ 30-4)

For the second match in a row, New Zealand are four down for not many - but this time they won't have Sophie Devine to dig them out of a hole.

A second wicket in the over for Dani Gibson as Devine departs for duck trying to lift the ball over the off side.

She doesn't quite get hold of it and drops a simple catch into the hands of Sophie Ecclestone at mid-off.

Maddy Green comes in at number six for the tourists, Brooke Halliday is down the other end on one.

The ball just climbed on Melie Kerr more than she thought. It came off the toe end of her bat. But another soft dismissal for the New Zealand captain who has not really been able to get going in this series.

A third wicket falls and the pressure tells on Melie Kerr. If she was disappointed with her shot in the second T20 at Canterbury she will be mightily displeased with this one as well.

It was a cross-batted heave that just went straight to the hands of Maia Bouchier.

    New Zealand are wobbling.
