It looked pretty plumb to me.

I think this looks pretty good from an England perspective.

Sneh Rana is trapped on the pads and Mady Villiers in convinced. Given not out but England review. My first reaction was out.

Deepti Sharma brought up the 50 in 70 balls, including seven fours. It's her fifth Test 50 and her third against England.

    Sophie Ecclestone continues.

Sneh Rana nudges into the off side for a single to bring Deepti Sharma on strike.

A quick single and a dive to make the ground brings up Deepti's half-century.

Her fifth Test century - and third against England - has taken 70 balls.

When bowling her stock delivery around the wicket, Sophie Ecclestone bowls from tighter to the stumps when she has a red ball in hand.

In her white-ball endeavours, Ecclestone typically releases the ball from 18 cm wider.

  7. Eng 270-6published at 17:00 BST 10 July

Deepti Sharma slashes Mady Villiers for two as Alice Capsey does some fine work in the deep.

A single takes Sharma to 49.

I've seen no demons out there. I think from what I saw of the surface this morning, it looks like tomorrow might be the best day to bat.

I'm surprised that Mady Villiers ball was even possible, given how much grass there was.

It's so hard to tell what is a good score on a ground where women have never played in a format that they rarely play.

Enjoying this contest! I think it is unfair to be so negative on the bowlers when they never get a chance to play with a red ball or bowl more than 10 overs!

Ecclestone is very good at varying her pace. Sometimes with spin bowlers, you can tell the pace depending on their arm speed. Ecclestone is good at changing the pace but keeping her arm speed the same.

With a batter like Rana, it seems like you can fire them through then slow one down.

  12. drinks break

    Ind 267-6published at 65 overs

Centimeters! Sophie Eccleston sends a quicker one down and it goes agonisingly close to the off stump. Sneh Rana looks like a relieved woman.

Just a single to Deepti Sharma from the over as the players take a drinks break.

The India batter moves to 46 off 64 balls. How costly will this missed opportunity from earlier be?

Replays of that Sophie Ecclestone appeal show there was no bat involved but the ball would have clipped the leg stump, so would have remained not out on umpire's call.

Mady Villiers is once again sent crashing to the boundary by Deepti Sharma, who sweeps and sweeps hard.

Curious how the bowlers have bowled in big chunks. It can help them get into rhythm and get into the game. But, it also allows the batters get used to the pace and trajectory.

I think it's good to chop and change, especially when the partnership has settled.

  15. Ind 257-6published at 63 overs

There is a change of bowling but it's Sophie Ecclestone - still searching for her first wicket - who returns.

Ecclestone raises her arms for an lbw shout. The line looks good but there's not even a chat about a review. Bat first? Must have been. Remember, England have only one review left.

Good over from Ecclestone - just a single conceded.

Lots of comments about bad decisions and underwhelming performance earlier today but seems a normal Test match situation to me, we've got so used to madness from the men that steady run scoring and taking of wickets seems odd! Enjoying the ebb and flow of the game.

Floated in by Mady Villiers and Deepti Sharma sweeps for four. She plays that shot so well.

More intent from Sharma as she settles her feet and launches the next delivery up and over mid-wicket for another boundary.

Expensive over from the England spinner - 11 from it.

Lauren Bell appears to be warming up.

I'm surprised that they haven't tried Ecclestone more from the Pavilion End. I'd like to see her have another few overs from there.

  19. Ind 246-6published at 61 overs

    Sharma 31, Rana 5

The bonus of England's wayward lines and inconsistent lengths is that it has kept the Indian batters thinking. Perhaps the explanation to why they've given away some of their wickets.

Three singles from Lauren Filer's over.

It can be tricky for people coming to Lord's for the first time, getting used to the orientation of the slope.

Deepti is no stranger to this ground.
