Summary

  1. Postpublished at 20:49 GMT 29 November 2025

Hennessy beats Bytyqi by unanimous decision

It's worth remembering that Bytyqi is a former world champion - albeit at atomweight - but even that experience of being at the top level of the sport wasn't enough to compete with Hennessy tonight.

  2. Hennessy remains unbeatenpublished at 20:48 GMT 29 November 2025

Hennessy beats Bytyqi by unanimous decision

Hennessy takes her undefeated record to seven fights with a punch-perfect performance in the co-main event.

A lot of respect between the two fighters as they shake hands but the result was only ever going one way.

All three judges score it 100-90 in Hennessy's favour.

Are we looking at a star of the future?

This is a wonderful demonstration of variety, volume and punch picking from Francesca Hennessy in her first 10-round outing.

  4. Round tenpublished at 20:46 GMT 29 November 2025

    Hennessy v Bytyqi

Into the final round and the writing has been on the wall for some time. I'm struggling to score any of the previous nine rounds in Bytyqi's favour.

The cheers begin to grow as the fight heads into the final 15 seconds and Hennessy continues to go to work.

  5. Kodua with Yarde and Ajayi in his cornerpublished at 20:44 GMT 29 November 2025

    Kodua defeats Dalton on points

Joel Kodua became the new English welterweight champion earlier tonight.

He had a real star in his corner, Anthony Yarde. They are both trained by Tunde Ajayi.

Yarde was wearing sunglasses, perhaps hiding some of the bruises from his world title clash with David Benavidez last weekend. What a fight.

Can Kodua follow his friend to world title pastures?

Hennessy is competing in a 10-round bout for the first time tonight - she's never previously gone beyond eight - so it's new ground for these remaining four minutes.

Hennessy still looks fresh, though, and the output remains high and accurate with lots of flashy scoring shots.

A one-two sneaks through and rocks Bytyqi's head back late in the round.

These body shots may be beginning to take a toll on Bytyqi, the last left hand that was sunk into her body brought a reaction from her.

  9. Round eightpublished at 20:40 GMT 29 November 2025

    Hennessy v Bytyqi

Hennessy feels comfortable enough to start showboating. A little skip from as she drops her hands down to her waist before stepping forward, ducking low and coming up to body and head with another scoring combination.

Hennessy uses he shoulder to push Bytyqi back and gets a warning from the referee.

The body shots are still there for Hennessy. They must be starting to take a toll on Bytyqi now.

The fast hands from Hennessy are keeping her in the driving seat right now.

But she needs to be careful, if she holds her feet and doesn't move her head she will be there to be countered.

We have a few BBC Sport spies in the dressing rooms tonight. They will be producing a behind-the-scenes look at proceedings, so watch out for that tonight and tomorrow.

Wonder if that Lucozade is Frazer Clarke's? Pre-fight fuel?

  12. Round sevenpublished at 20:37 GMT 29 November 2025

    Hennessy v Bytyqi

For the first time in this bout it gets a little scrappy. The pair come together and are trying to exchange in the clinch but the referee steps in to separate them.

It has been fought at a decent tempo. Maybe a sign of some fatigue?

When they do part, it remains Hennessy who controls the action.

    Lauren Price
    Olympic champion on BBC Two

I'm really enjoying it so far. Fran [Hennessy] is boxing beautifully so far, great head movement and working well to the body.

I am looking forward to the main event and supporting Frazer Clarke.

[On a potential homecoming fight] I love boxing in Wales, so to get back there early next year and back in camp... I am looking forward to announcing something really soon.

  14. Round sixpublished at 20:34 GMT 29 November 2025

    Hennessy v Bytyqi

There's a big difference in the way the pair look on the feet. Bytyqi is planted and trying to walk her opponent down with Hennessy light, bouncing around and slipping out of danger.

Hennessy closes the range, dips low and then comes up to counter when Bytyqi throws out a jab.

  15. Round fivepublished at 20:32 GMT 29 November 2025

    Hennessy v Bytyqi

More of the same from Hennessy.

It's going to take something big or possibly a sloppy mistake to allow Bytyqi back into this contest.

Halfway through this bout and I've scored all five rounds to Hennessy.

That is some vigorous towel waving there in the Bytyqi's corner. Almost as impressive as Henessey's performance.

Her shot selection is terrific and she cannot miss with those body shots. One. Way. Traffic.

Without wishing to be unkind to Fabiana Bytyqi, I think she is facing a shutout right now after the completion of four rounds.

  18. Round fourpublished at 20:29 GMT 29 November 2025

    Hennessy v Bytyqi

    Hennessy continues to dominate.

A stinging straight right lands clean. Bytyqi hasn't got the answers at the moment - she's just finding thin air.

These two-minute rounds are flying by.

A contrast in the corners between rounds.

Hennessy looks calm as she receives instructions, while Bytyqi's coach is frantically waving a white towel in her face.

  20. Round threepublished at 20:25 GMT 29 November 2025

    Hennessy v Bytyqi

Hennessy is doing a great job of being a moving target. She gets in with combinations, ducks and angles away before resetting and going again.

It's fantastic variety too - uppercut, hook, jab.
