  1. Have you ever seen a better setting?published at 21:14 BST 23 May

    Usyk v Verhoeven

    Just look at this!

Surely this is one the most jaw-dropping settings we've ever seen for a boxing event with the Pyramids of Giza in the background.

Eddie Hearn said building the venue would go right down to the wire this week, as the structures were built directly on the sand.

We assume it couldn't be right below the pyramids because of vibrations but there is still a great view of them from ringside.

  3. Unusual location, unusual main eventpublished at 21:08 BST 23 May

    Usyk v Verhoeven

Oleksandr Usyk defends his WBC world title against Rico Verhoeven on Saturday in Egypt.

The fight is unusual in location as in nature, with kickboxing world champion Verhoeven getting a title shot in just his second boxing fight - and first since 2014.

The 37-year-old Dutchman is aiming to pull off arguably the biggest upset in the sport's history.

Ukrainian Usyk, 39, is aiming to continue his near 17-year winning streak.

  4. Is Catterall the best English fighter not to win a world title?published at 21:05 BST 23 May

    Catterall v Giyasov

If there is a fighter who deserves a world title, it’s Jack Catterall.

The Chorley fighter came agonisingly close in 2022 when he challenged Josh Taylor for the undisputed light-welterweight championship. Scotsman Taylor was controversially awarded the verdict despite widespread belief Catterall had done enough. Victory would have made him the first Englishman to become an undisputed four-belt champion and transformed his career overnight.

He gained revenge in a non-title rematch two years later. But for all his talent, could Catterall end up being remembered as one of the best English fighters never to win a world title?

Kirkland Laing famously defeated Roberto Duran in 1982, though his career never truly kicked on because of his lifestyle outside of the ring. Herol Graham also came close, falling short in three world-title attempts across middleweight and super-middleweight.

Perhaps the unluckiest of them all was Welsh featherweight Jim Driscoll. He outboxed champion Abe Attell for much of their 1909 meeting, but under the rules at the time, a title could only change hands via knockout - meaning the fight was ruled a no decision.
