Hamzah Sheeraz, speaking to DAZN after his victory: "First of all, thanks to the mighty Allah, always. Massive thank you to [Turki Al-Sheikh] for the opportunity.

"To be honest, I did what I was meant to do tonight. Now it has got me on to the world stage and I am calling on all of the 168-pounders.

"Arsenal set the tone and put a bit of pressure on me. I have handed the baton back to them and hopefully they can do the double [by winning the Champions League].

"It was simple. I saw he was very negative from when I landed the first punch. After that, it was about walking him down and getting out of there. That is what we've done."

On what is next: "I'll fight anyone. There is boxing royalty ringside and I want to follow in their footsteps. I am beating whoever is in front of me. If Canelo wins [against Christian Mbilli], it's up to him. I believe he is one of the GOATs of boxing; to share the ring with him would be an honour. If I got the opportunity, I would get the win for sure."

It's been a good night for the British fighters in Egypt, with wins for Jack Catterall and now Hamzah Sheeraz.

He may be a newly crowned world champion but he says he'll "fight anyone" and wants to "collect all the belts".

At the end of the day, you can only beat what is in front of you. Sheeraz has done it in a quality style.

What impressed me was that he was superb on the inside; he got the left uppercuts and hooks. He boxed sensibly, got his guard high and it was lovely straight punching. What a display.

Look, it was a complete mismatch in abilties but Hamzah Sheeraz won't care, he's world champion!

The left hook to the right side of Begic's face was the one that was doing immense damage but Sheeraz whipped the left hook to the body and the German was done.

That was punch-perfect and totally dominant from the first bell. Sheeraz becomes the 15th Brit to become a super-middleweight world champion.

Begic is a little more adventurous but Sheeraz rocks him with some concussive blows to the head with the left hand.

Sheeraz keeps walking forward, dominating the German - who, let's be honest, is a few levels below Sheeraz.

I don't think you'll see many world title rounds as one-sided as that. Sheeraz looks very positive and it's a very sensible peformance.

Trainer Andy Lee tells Sheeraz to drive through with his right hand in the break.

Let's see if he does that.

Sheeraz is whipping in stinging left hooks before dropping to the body of Begic. Sheeraz is letting his hands go and catches the German with a hard straight right.

Already it looks like just a matter of time for Sheeraz. He looks dominant coming forward, measuring the target with the jab and his fast right hand. What a dominant first minute or so.

The bell rings and Sheeraz takes centre ring. He towers over Begic and we don't expect him to hang about here.

And here comes Briton Hamzah Sheeraz. Is this going to be his crowning moment?
