The Jacksonville Jaguars have stayed in the hunt for the AFC's top seed and put pressure on the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos in the late window.

  6. Williams chasing historypublished at 21:25 GMT 4 January

Detroit Lions @ Chicago Bears (21:25)

    Caleb WilliamsImage source, Getty Images

Caleb Williams needs 109 yards to set a new Chicago Bears record for passing yards in a season, with Erik Kramer's 3,838 set in 1995 his target.

Williams has 3,730 yards so far after a season-high 330 yards last week, so another 270 yards tonight will see the Bears finally have a 4,000-yard passer on their books.

Amazingly the Bears are the only team in the NFL not have a quarterback hit that mark in their history.

Williams has already set a record in the NFL as he's had 23 games without an interception in his first two seasons in the league - beating Dak Prescott's previous best of 22.

  8. NFC seedings to sort outpublished at 21:23 GMT 4 January

    Sean McVayImage source, Getty Images

The first, fourth and seventh seeds in the NFC are locked in after the Panthers claimed the NFC South.

Differing approaches by the other teams jostling for seedings, as the Eagles are resting Jalen Hurts and a host of starters with Nick Sirianni happy to concede the second seed and finish in third.

The Bears will go full strength as they aim to beat Detroit and finish second, which could mean an extra home game in the play-offs, but that does run the risk of injury - which way would you go? Let us know.

Sean McVay will start strong with his Rams as well as they could move up one from sixth to fifth, and would send them to Carolina instead of Philadelphia as things stand - which on paper at least is a much tougher prospect.

    NFC current seedings

    1. Seattle Seahawks
    2. Chicago Bears
    3. Philadelphia Eagles
    4. Carolina Panthers
    5. San Francisco 49ers
    6. Los Angeles Rams
    7. Green Bay Packers
  9. Who takes the AFC top seed?published at 21:21 GMT 4 January

The New England Patriots and the Denver Broncos go into their games tonight knowing they must win to have a chance of clinching the number one seed in the AFC and with it a bye to the divisional round of the play-offs.

Denver currently occupies the top seed and will secure it with victory against the Los Angeles Chargers tonight.

The Pats host the Miami Dolphins knowing they must win and hope Denver slip up, while if they both lose then the Jaguars will sneak it!

  10. FT: Texans storm into play-offspublished at 21:19 GMT 4 January

    Indianapolis Colts 30-38 Houston Texans

The Houston Texans are heading to the play-offs as the hottest team in the NFL as victory against the Colts was their ninth in the row.

They didn't manage to pinch the AFC South from Jacksonville, but not many teams will want to see Houston and their top-ranked defence coming to town in the wildcard round.

Awaiting this streaking Texans team will be either the Pittsburgh Steelers or Baltimore Ravens - whoever wins their AFC North title showdown later tonight.

All of the AFC should fear the Texans though...

    • New Orleans Saints 17-19 Atlanta Falcons
    • Cleveland Browns 20-18 Cincinnati Bengals
    • Green Bay Packers 3-16 Minnesota Vikings
    • Dallas Cowboys 17-34 New York Giants

Touchdown - Texanspublished at 21:16 GMT 4 January

    Indianapolis Colts 30-38 Houston Texans

    Big man touchdown!

Defensive tackle Tommy Togiai gets his touchdown as he picks up a fumble and rumbles back 17 yards into the end zone.

Togiai was meant to get a hand-off at the goal line earlier in the game but for a bit of a mix-up, but what a fitting way to end the game as he dives over for a touchdown to clinch the fifth seed for Houston.

  13. Coming up.... week 18 late gamespublished at 21:13 GMT 4 January

Coming up we've got a bumper seven late games tonight with plenty on the line - namely the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots going for top seed in the AFC.

A win for the Bears will clinch the second seed in the NFC, a defeat could let the Eagles in but they're playing their second stringers against Washington. The Rams are at full strength as they look to pinch the fifth seed from San Francisco.

In the AFC, the Chargers are resting players so aren't too bothered whether they finish sixth or seventh, with the Bills expected to start Josh Allen but he may not play too long in what is the final game at Buffalo's Highmark Stadium.

    Week 18 late games

    • Kansas City Chiefs @ Las Vegas Raiders
    • Washington Commanders @ Philadelphia Eagles
    • Miami Dolphins @ New England Patriots
    • Arizona Cardinals @ Los Angeles Rams
    • Los Angeles Chargers @ Denver Broncos
    • Detroit Lions @ Chicago Bears
    • New York Jets @ Buffalo Bills
  14. field goal

Field goal - Texanspublished at 21:11 GMT 4 January

    Indianapolis Colts 30-32 Houston Texans

The Houston back-ups surely get the job done now as Ka'imi Fairbairn slots a 43-yard field goal with just 12 seconds left on the clock.

You never know how the play-offs will work out but the Texans are heading for the fifth seed which means a wildcard road trip to either Baltimore or Pittsburgh depending on who wins tonight's huge final game of the regular season.

  15. Full-time: Panthers win NFC Southpublished at 21:08 GMT 4 January
    Breaking

New Orleans Saints 17-19 Atlanta Falcons

It's all over in Atlanta, and their victory means the Carolina Panthers pip the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the NFC South title!

  16. Raiders clinch first pickpublished at 21:06 GMT 4 January

The Las Vegas Raiders are on the clock....

Even ahead of their game against the Chiefs tonight, with the Giants beating the Cowboys it means the Raiders are guaranteed to have the first pick of the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Raiders have a strange history with the draft and have done some crazy things previously - let's see what they do with top spot this year!

  17. Postpublished at 21:06 GMT 4 January

New Orleans Saints 17-19 Atlanta Falcons

The onside kick doesn't reach 10 yards and it goes out of bounds.

The Saints have no time-outs remaining and there is only 1:10 left on the clock.

    Panthers fans, you can relax.

  18. Full-time: Garrett breaks sack record as Browns win againpublished at 21:05 GMT 4 January

    Cleveland Browns 20-18 Cincinnati Bengals

Myles Garrett celebrates with Cleveland Browns fans after setting the NFL sack recordImage source, Getty Images

Shedeur Sanders' NFL career began with the most dramatic slide in draft history but the fifth-round pick has ended up becoming Cleveland's starting quarterback and despite a rocky start, he's ended his rookie season by leading the Browns to back-to-back wins to finish with a 5-12 record.

The big story today, though, was Myles Garrett setting the new record for most sacks in a season. The Cleveland defensive end was already a future Hall of Famer but his 23rd sack of the season cements his legacy as one of the all-time greats.

  19. touchdown

Touchdown - Saintspublished at 21:04 GMT 4 January

New Orleans Saints 17-19 Atlanta Falcons

    Oh hello!

Ronnie Bell makes an incredible one-handed catch at the back of the end zone for a Saints score. The extra point is good, so we have a two-point game!

    Onside kick coming up.

Carolina Panthers fans squirm in their seats.

  20. field goal

Field goal - Coltspublished at 20:59 GMT 4 January

    Indianapolis Colts 30-29 Houston Texans

Fair play to the Colts who have nothing to play for but are keeping the Texans honest as Indy take the lead again thanks to a Blake Grupe field goal from 22 yards out.

We'll see how much the Texans want this fifth seed now.
