  11. Robinson key for Falconspublished at 18:00 GMT 4 January

New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons (18:00 GMT)

Atlanta's Bijan Robinson could be crucial to who wins the NFC South.

The dual-purpose running back continued his fine season last Monday - in the NFL's final game of 2025 - racking up a total of 229 yards from scrimmage in the Falcons' 27-24 win over the Los Angeles Rams, which included a 93-yard touchdown run.

That took Robinson to 2,255 scrimmage yards for the season, breaking Atlanta's franchise record. In his third season in the NFL, the 23-year-old has established himself as the Falcons' biggest offensive threat and needs 12 more rushing yards today to pass his previous best for a season (1,456).

  12. AFC South goes down to the wirepublished at 18:00 GMT 4 January

AFC South rivals Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston have already clinched play-off berths, but only one can win the division. The other will take one of the three AFC wildcard spots.

If the Jaguars beat the 3-13 Tennessee Titans today then they will win the division.

With the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos in action later, the Jags would remain in the hunt for the number one seed in the AFC.

For the in-form Texans to clinch the AFC South, they need to beat the Indianapolis Colts and hope the Jags lose.

  13. Saints and Falcons will decide NFC Southpublished at 17:57 GMT 4 January

Neither the New Orleans Saints nor the Atlanta Falcons can reach the play-offs, but their match-up today will decide which of their divisional rivals does.

A Saints win would see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-9) pip the Carolina Panthers (8-9) to the NFC South title because of their superior record against 'common opponents'.

A Falcons win would also see them finish with an 8-9 record.

However, in the event of a three-way tie, the Panthers would nick the division because of their superior head-to-head record between the three teams.

    Easy peasy, right?

  14. Seahawks beat 49ers to clinch NFC's top seedpublished at 17:56 GMT 4 January

Seattle Seahawks 13-3 San Francisco 49ers

The top seed in the National Football Conference has already been decided.

The Seattle Seahawks won last night's decider at divisional rivals San Francisco to secure the NFC West title and finish the regular season with a 14-3 record.

Seattle's seventh straight win means that the Seahawks will have the best record in the NFC - regardless of what happens tonight - so they will get a first-round bye and home advantage throughout the play-offs.

  15. What was at stake heading into final weekend?published at 17:55 GMT 4 January

This is it NFL fans, the final day of the regular season and although we have just two play-off spots up for grabs there's a bucket load still to be decided.

Top spot in the AFC is up for grabs with the Broncos, Patriots and Jaguars all in the running, while Jacksonville also need to look over their shoulders as the Texans could still pinch the division.

The Saints and Falcons will decide who goes through in the NFC South - funnily enough it will be neither of those two but either the Panthers or Buccaneers.

And the 272nd and final game of the regular season is a huge one as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens battle it out for the one remaining play-off spot as AFC North winners.

So strap in, this could be a wild ride tonight.
