Green Bay Packers 21-3 Chicago Bears

Well, if Chicago are to engineer a comeback they have to start by slowing down this Green Bay attack, and they've forced them to punt for the first time in the game right after half time.

There's no rust [from Jordan Love], and if you don't get pressure on Jordan Love, there's gonna be issues.

Right away he came out throwing the ball to these receivers, he's got a bunch of them. The lights weren't going to be too bright for him today.

He's playing great, he's getting a great game called by Matt LaFleur. And it doesn't seem like they're going to slow down any time soon.

The Packers have scored on all three trips into the red zone tonight, after going 0/5 in their week 16 loss here.

Asked at half-time what the difference is, head coach Matt LaFleur said: "Execution. I think we've had a good plan. We'd like to be able to run the ball in, but they're a stout defence."

He added: "It's a one-play mindset. We've got to finish this thing. We've seen this team come back all year long so that's the message, we've got to finish it."

That late missed field goal was about the thing Green Bay got wrong in a perfect first half against their fierce rivals in a red-hot atmosphere inside Soldier Field.

Jordan Love led touchdown drives on their first three possessions, and given enough time you fancy he'd have made it four from four as well.

Love has 138 yards and three touchdowns and has been clinical and calm in difficult weather conditions and a tough, hostile atmosphere.

It's just not happening for Caleb Williams so far, with just 78 passing yards and an interception, while they're just 4-9 on third down and 1-4 on fourth down.

And Chicago's key strength of generating turnovers has been nullified, as they're losing that battle 0-1 so far. Williams has performed some comeback miracles this season, he now needs another.

  6. Field goal no goodpublished at 02:36 GMT 11 January

Brandon McManus come on to try a 55-yard field goal with the last kick of the half in the swirling wind of Soldier Field.

Chicago take a time out just before his attempt, which he kicks anyway and slots through the uprights, but when he has a go for real the ball just catches the wind and drifts wide of the left upright.

  7. 'Green Bay offensive line has done a heck of a job'published at 02:34 GMT 11 January

This Green Bay offensive line has done a heck of a job. Jordan Love's been under pressure only once, and when he's had time he's completed nine of 11 passes for three touchdowns.

Jordan Love drives the Packers into the Bears half, just looking for enough yardage to try a late field goal - although he did have Christian Watson open for a touchdown but overthrew his speedy receiver.

  9. Turnoverpublished at 02:30 GMT 11 January

Nope, it's just not working so far for Caleb Williams, who is well off target with his fourth down throw and Green Bay take over again on their own 37.

Another fourth down attempt coming up for Chicago - Ben Johnson again going for it rather than taking on what would be a 55-yard field-goal try.

Caleb Williams has to get a move on with about a minute and 20 left on the clock - and he does just that with a 22-yard strike to rookie tight end Colston Loveland.

Williams is almost picked off on the next play though as third down soon comes around.

  12. 'Bears can't defend top offences'published at 02:24 GMT 11 January

    NFL have your say

Sadly this game is heading towards being as good as done already. Chicago can’t defend against top offences - it’s been that way all season. Looks like it’ll be a touchdown almost every drive for Green Bay.

We said what do the Bears have to do to win this game? It was win the turnover margin. It's been excpetional all year long.

But on the first couple of series, it looked like Green Bay is the better football team. They were executing, but that doesn't mean this game can't flip.

It felt like Green Bay came in with a chip on their shoulder for being doubted, coming on the road for this first round of the post-season.

Touchdown - Packerspublished at 02:21 GMT 11 January

And there it is! Romeo Doubs it is who catches the third touchdown pass from Jordan Love in this first half.

After two straight runs up the middle, Green Bay spread them out with a bunch formation on the left, which works a treat in confusing the Chicago secondary, and from a yard out it only takes a step in the wrong direction to create enough separation.

Love takes his time for the play to develop and it works a treat as the Bears end up leaving Doubs with plenty of space to catch the pass and run in to score.

  15. Two-minute warningpublished at 02:20 GMT 11 January

Green Bay Packers 14-3 Chicago Bears

It's now fourth down from the one when we come back from the two-minute warning as Josh Jacobs has two straight runs stuffed before he can find the end zone.

Matt LaFleur looks like he'll be keeping Jordan Love out there and going for a touchdown, surely the Bears can't keep them out again?

  16. Postpublished at 02:18 GMT 11 January

Green Bay Packers 14-3 Chicago Bears

Two plays and two near mistakes for the Packers, who have been flawless so far but now look edgy on those plays - especially a zone read where Jordan Love can't decide if he's pulling the ball out of Josh Jacobs' grasp or not and the running back almost carries him over the line.

  17. Touchdown? No...published at 02:16 GMT 11 January

Green Bay Packers 14-3 Chicago Bears

Jordan Love finds Christian Watson to convert fourth down, but Watson wants more as he motors down the sideline and then he takes to the skies to dive over a defender into the end zone.

But the ball is popped out just short of the line - it's recovered by the Packers but by rule it's not a touchdown but a first down at the one.

Can the Packers punch it in? I fancy Josh Jacobs from here..

  18. Postpublished at 02:14 GMT 11 January

Green Bay Packers 14-3 Chicago Bears

Good stop from the Bears to bring up fourth down and a yard, but Matt LaFleur is in no mood to take the field goal so he's keeping the offence out on the field to try and move the chains.

  19. 'Johnson call shows respect for what Packers offence can do'published at 02:11 GMT 11 January

Ben Johnson trumped the analytics as they recommended to punt. It just showed the respect he has for what Jordan Love and this Packers offence is capable of tonight.

But the timing and the rhythm were off from the word go.

  20. Huge turnoverpublished at 02:11 GMT 11 January

The fourth down play is a mess. The snap is high, Caleb Williams does well to gather it, but by the time he does the timing is way off and his pass is then tipped at the line and drops to the ground.

Green Bay get the ball back already in field-goal range at the Chicago 32 with five minutes left in the half.

Jordan Love can't wait to get out there for a short field, licking his chops and fancying adding a third touchdown.
