Originally the south transept of the Priory Church,
the Orangery got its name from the Byron family, who purchased the
Newstead estate from Henry VIII in 1540, and converted the transept
into a room for growing citrus fruits.
The Orangery's ornate plaster ceiling, crystal chandelier and large
windows with beautiful garden views beyond make the Orangery a different
wedding venue. |
