The chapel was built in the 13th century.
It was originally the Chapter House for the Priory.
However, the Byron family converted it into a chapel.
When the poet Lord Byron lived in the house he used the chapel to
house his menagerie.
The chapel was later enlarged by the Wildman family and redecorated
by the Webb family.
The chapel still has regular Sunday services which are open to the
public.
The chapel holds a maximum of 70 people. |
