The Great Drawing Room is a recreation of the room
as it would have looked under the ownership of Colonel Wildman in
the early 1800s.
It was restored in the late 1980s.
When Lord Byron owned Newstead Abbey this room would have been more
like a gymnasium where the poet would have performed sporting activities
such as fencing and boxing. |
