    I've just watched the dome on the building next to Central Station fall in the fire.

    Four floors of the building are still standing from what I can see on Renfield Street.

    Two firefighters on height appliances are dampening down flames.

    Embers can still be seen burning in the lower levels of the building

    As we've been reporting, the fire has closed down Glasgow Central Station.

    This is the full statement from Network Rail:

    "Glasgow Central Station has been closed until further notice, and will not reopen on Monday morning, following a fire at a vape shop on Union Street this afternoon.

    "Emergency services, including Police Scotland and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, are on site and managing the incident. As a precaution, all services through Glasgow Central have been suspended and passengers are advised to seek alternative travel arrangements.

    "We will provide further updates as soon as more information becomes available.”

    Police are appealing to people to stay away from the fire. Large crowds are gathered at the edge of cordons on Renfield Street and Gordon Street. The fire is one of the biggest - and most visible - in the city centre for many years. It is also causing huge disruption. Central Staton is closed and bus routes are disrupted.

    The nearby Glasgow Central train station has been closed and all services in and out have been cancelled.

    ScotRail said the closure would continue into Monday morning.

    Network Rail warned all passengers affected by the closure to check journey changes with their operator.

    McGills Buses are accepting train tickets on some routes.

  5. Dozens of firefighters tackling blazepublished at 21:57 GMT 8 March

    Emergency crews were called to the scene of the fire at about 15:45.

    The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said 15 appliances were tackling the fire including three high reach vehicles and a water rescue team.

    Crews have been pumping water out of the River Clyde in order to battle the flames.

    The SFRS said they had no reported casualties as of 20:30 on Sunday.
