It’s not just Jamie who’s been covering a lot of distance this week. Some fans have been travelling around the country to support him too.

This is Danielle, Jordan and Fleur who went to cheer Jamie on for his gruelling challenge on day one in Harpenden.

“He looked elated, in good spirits. He was on good form. We’ve been listening on the radio all week and it sounds like he’s a bit worse for wear now."

Why are they such big fans? “He just seems so friendly, he seems like a really nice guy.

"We’ve been watching him from his made in Chelsea days, been loving his podcast. Also I’m a vegan - so I love the sweets."

Jamie's challenge started all smiles, with everyone cheering him on from back at base in Radio 1.

He was joined by 50 doppelgangers in Hyde Park, all wearing blonde Jamie-style wigs.

Our Ultra Marathon Man had never run 30 miles before, but it made it look easy - especially compared to the following few days.

    Jamie Laing
    Radio 1's Ultra Marathon Man

It's just one foot in front of the other. It's just moving forward.

I've been listening to the same four songs about 800 times. Just over and over and over again. For some reason that puts me in a rhythm and if I have those songs on I can get slightly through it.

This is the first time where I think 'OK, there is a finish line there.'

I’m so proud of him and yet I’m looking at him and he’s hurting and hurting so much, I just hope he hasn’t seriously done proper damage to himself.

It’s amazing what he’s done to have run that distance and not run anything before in his life.

Once he sets his mind into doing something, he does it.

"Don’t do it again!” Nicholas says laughingly.

    Jamie Laing
    Radio 1's Ultra Marathon Man

It's much better now. It wasn't so good for a bit but it's much, much better now.

We just ran with Greg in his wedding dress which was pretty insane actually. That was OK at the begininning, then I had about 10-15km, normally my mind is pretty positive but my mind just went blank, I can't really explain what happened. I kept trying to look at my watch to keep concentration and it was just not moving. I didn't know what was going on but I made it in and I feel much better now.

Jamie has been brilliant all week at showing his emotions, being upfront in his vulnerability.

Greg James and his listeners raised enough money for Greg to run a lap with Jamie in a wedding dress - veil and garter to boot.

As part of the forfeit, Jamie was told he'd have to bite Greg's garter off with his teeth. Listeners dubbed it the "garter gobble."
