La Hougue Bie
La Hougue Bie, Grouville
Open from end of March to end of October
Here you can find a Neolithic burial mound that dates back 5,500 years. The tomb has been excavated so that visitors can go into the passage grave, and there is also a reconstructed neolithic house and activity area. Two chapels sit on top of the mound, and there are geology and archaeology galleries. There is also a German bunker from World War II, which houses a memorial to Channel Island slave-workers.

Hamptonne
La Patente, St. Lawrence
Open from end of March to end of October
Jersey's rural heritage comes alive in this example of a traditional Jersey farm. The houses and outbuildings have been restored to mimic life in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. The museum is full of characters who talk about what Jersey was like when they were alive, and demonstrate bygone skills. There is also an environmental trail and a sensory garden.

Mont Orgueil
Gorey, St Martin
Limited winter opening: closed tues to thurs
This castle was built in the 13th century to protect the island from the French. It is one of the best preserved castles in Britain and is also one of the most photographed sites in the island.

Elizabeth Castle and the Hermitage
St. Aubins Bay, St. Helier
Open from end of March to end of October
This castle was built in the 1590's, and was named after Queen Elizabeth I by Sir Walter Raleigh. The castle is filled with exhibitions explaining its role in Jersey's history. The site also houses the Hermitage, a small chapel dedicated to Saint Helier.

Jersey War Tunnels
Meadowbank, St. Lawrence
Closed December to January
The Jersey War Tunnels were built between October 1941 and January 1944 using forced and slave labour. They were originally built as artillery barracks and ammunition stores, but were converted into a bomb-proof casualty station. The tunnels house the exhibition 'Captive Island', which follows the history of the German Occupation of Jersey.

Le Moulin de Quetivel
Mont Fallu, St. Peter
Open May to October
This is the only remaining working mill in Jersey, after it was restored in the 1970's by the Jersey Heritage Trust. There is a display on milling and mills, and a National Trust shop.

Grosnez Castle and Le Pinacle
Les Landes, St. Ouen
On the cliffs at Les Landes you can find the ruins of Grosnez castle, built during the 1330's. Just along the cliff top is a guntower, built during the German occupation, along with bunkers and other fortifications. Just along from this is Le Pinacle - this rock formation was used as a site of ritual worship during neolithic times.

Greve de Lecq Barracks
Greve de Lecq, St. Mary
Closed during the winter
These barracks were built at the time of the Napoleonic wars. There is information on the bay's military past, and a display of horse drawn carriages.

The Glass Church
Millbrook, St. Lawrence
Open all year round
The glasswork in this church (including the font, altar rail, cross and pillars) was created by Rene Lalique, and is considered to be among his greatest achievements. The glass is truly unique, as the mould was broken after the glass was produced.

Corbiere Lighthouse
Corbiere
This lighthouse was the first concrete lighthouse built in the British Isles.
