  1. Irelandpublished at 20:49 BST 11 May 2017

Our 9th contestant tonight is lovely Irish lad, Brendan Murray who is the 51st Irishman ever to participate in the contest. They've won the competition a lucky 7 times so let's see if he can bring it home for the team in orange, white and green.

  2. Denmarkpublished at 20:48 BST 11 May 2017

Well, you can definitely see why Australia…sorry, DENMARK chose her. Those Scandinavian vocal gymnastics are absolutely spectacular. Ooof! Those high notes - her Viking ancestors would be so proud! Look at her go!

Well, that sort of explains why she won the third season of The Voice Australia. Oh,hang on Australia?! Yes, I actually got it right that time, it was definitely Australia not Denmark where she won The Voice, there's a video to prove it featuring Kylie Minogue and everything (oh dear):

Here she is hanging out with Australia's competitor Isaiah (who got through on Tuesday) and also speaking with a (*cough*) Danish accent just to prove she DEFNITELY ISN'T AN AUSTRALIAN.

It’s been a pretty pants few years for Denmark; they haven't made it into the final since way back in 2014.

Stepping up to the mark tonight is Anja who was actually born and raised entirely in Australia and has only been able to speak Danish for 10 months but ermm she has errrr Danish parents and errr most of her relatives live in Denmark? So that's OK right, Eurovision judges? Yeeeah OK well moving on....

  5. Hungarypublished at 20:46 BST 11 May 2017

Hungary is another nation which has never, ever won Eurovision. Their best ever result was (Donna Tartt lookalike) Friderika Bayer in 1994 who came 4th in the Grand Final in Dublin. Let's have a blast of that:

Joci is the 15th ever contestant from Hungary; could he be the first to snatch that trophy? Well if his drumming skills are anything to go by…

  6. Hungarypublished at 20:45 BST 11 May 2017

Shout out to Joci's backing dancer who really is giving it her all and got the memo that literally EVERY SINGLE WOMAN ON THE EUROVISION STAGE is dressed in white this year. No, seriously just check out Svala, SunStroke Project, Albania and Poland from earlier this week. #polyamorousweddingchic

  7. Hungarypublished at 20:42 BST 11 May 2017

Hungary have qualifed for the final every year since 2011 and this year they are represented by Joci Papai who claims he's the first ever gypsy to represent Hungary at Eurovision.

He says he's super grateful that the Hungarian have chosen him to be their competitor. He also claims that he started learning guitar at the age of four and he's never put one down since (must be a nightmare sharing a shower with him).

In case you're wondering who that *mysterious* man was chatting to Mel and Scott, it was none other than Eurovision boss Jon Ola Sand who is the European Broadcasting Union's Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Here he is looking slightly jollier with UK competitor Lucie Jones (GO LUCIE!) and Ireland's Brendan Murray.

Ok, buckle up, an explanation for the band name has just come in. Here we go…

It represents their mothers blood type ('O') and the genes that tie the three sisters together (hence the 3). Hmmm, catchy! Step aside 3OH3!, external, hit the road UB40, external,  - there's a new weirdly names band in town and it looks like they've got a good chance of getting that trophy.

If they do it'll be the 5th time The Netherlands have won Eurovison. The last time was Teach-In in 1975.

Oh hang on, these harmonies are actually pretty damn tasty aren't they? Sibling groups are always the best, though amiright The Corrs and The Staves, external

They've actually shown off these killer harmonies before when they covered previous 1974 Eurovision winners (and Swedish economy boosters/private island owners) ABBA.

Check out O'G3NE's sumptuous ABBA smorgasbord here (spoiler alert: it made one of the judges weep it was so good)

The Dutch entry this year is O'G3NE (yeah, me neither) which is made up of three sisters; Lisa, Amy and Shelley.

They participated in The Voice in their home country and became the first EVER group in the entire world to win the franchise as a group…WHAT an accolade. Here they are singing their winning song 'Magic' which got them that trophy

FANTASTIC prop game by Romania there with that glittery canon. It's the sort of thing Ru Paul would bring if she rocked up to the Battle of Waterloo. #napoleonrealness

What's been your favourite Eurovision prop of all time? To get you going here is a throwback to all the bizarre props we saw in the first semi-final two days ago:

The song is already extremely popular with international tennis champion SERENA WILLIAMS (yes, I know, this is actually happening) who took time out of her day to do a short cover of the song's chorus:

Well the rumours are true. This year's competition does indeed feature YODELLING. Thank you Gods of Eurovision our sacrifical offerings (Scooch, Jemini etc) have been answered.

Here are Ilinca and Alex Florea blasting their way through their descriptively named song - 'Yodel It!'

You missed a trick there Nathan Trent from Austria!

  15. Maltapublished at 20:26 BST 11 May 2017

Holy moly these vocals are pretty spectacular aren’t they? Are you hearing this Celine Dion, external

Well, with riffs like this Claudia might just go all the way…and if she wins the competition and gets that trophy she will be the first ever entrant from Malta to do so. It's little wonder this journalist started balling his eyes out when trying to describe her performance:

Claudia is also persistent as hell - she has tried to represent Malta a whopping TEN TIMES.

She came tantalisingly close to representing her country in 2008 and 2012, coming 2nd in Malta's selection competition on both occasions.

But this year she finally threw on a killer white dress and clawed her way to the final. Here is the ecstatic moment when her dream came true on Maltese television (fast forward to 9.35):

Look, they even gave her a gargantuan bottle of champagne with the trophy when she got up on stage - Britain's Got Talent, take note.

  17. Maltapublished at 20:24 BST 11 May 2017

Next up is Claudia Faniello who, when she's not belting out songs about being breathless (some irony there I feel), works as a learning support assistant.

More specifically, she works as a learning support assistant for kids who have intellectual, physical and behavioural difficulties and so probably deserves more votes than anyone else tonight.

  18. FYR Macedoniapublished at 20:24 BST 11 May 2017

Hmmm, despite the grim social message this song is irritatingly catchy. Could it possibly have been written b-….oh god yep, here we go, It was written by lame Bond villains 'Symphonics International' who we chatted about earlier in the night during Serbia's song.

Turns out they also wrote Bulgaria's song coming up later tonight. Can't WAIT.

The official video for Jana's song is pretty derivative of Katy Perry's grim offering for 'The One That Got Away, external.' It also sticks two fingers up to the 'Celebrate Diversity' motto of Eurovision by imparting the really fantastic, progressive message (not) that it's better to strap on a pair of virtual reality goggles and pretend you're a skinny twenty-something than live your real life an older woman. #feminism Ugghh, NEXT PLEASE
