Invictus Games 2016 Day One - opening ceremony and cycling

Summary

Gabby Logan and Ade Adepitan presented coverage of the opening ceremony and cycling from Disney's ESPN World of Sports in Orlando, Florida.
Paralympic cyclist Jon-Allan Butterworth joined us to discuss the cycling event.
James Blunt and Gareth Malone spoke about their involvement in the opening ceremony in part one.

It was also a successful day for both male and female athletes from the UK heavyweight class. The women’s heavyweight heats were first up this morning and it was a straightforward heat for the UK team as Nerys Pearce, Laura Knowles and Kelly Layden Farrer all qualified for the finals comfortably. In the men’s competition Ross Austen, Nathan Cumberland, Sean Gaffney and Ian Taylor all progressed into the finals tomorrow. Sean Gaffney remains Britain’s best hope of gold in the men's heavyweight as he secured top place in the heats. Unfortunately Mark Stonelake and David Darroch did not make the top eight and will not participate in the final.

Captain David Wiseman is predicting big things for archer Dan Grobler, cyclist Jaco Van Gass and runner (and 2014 captain) Dave Henson.
Jen Warren is potentially going to swipe away the competition in the track, and Micky Yule is a sure -fire bet for the powerlifting. Finally, all eyes will be on Paul Vice in the cycling.

Friends and family joined the athletes in the stadium for what would prove to be an epic evening of entertainment and commemoration. Hundreds of athletes from 15 different nations gathered to celebrate in style - and if there were nerves for the competitions ahead, they certainly didn't show!
