Retired William O’Sullivan, 66, of Shepherd's Bush, says he does not want to see a "repeat of my homeland, Ireland”, where a smoking ban has been in place since last year.

“People who live near the borders in Ireland get married in the south and then have the reception in the north so that they can smoke.

“I will stop going to Wetherspoons."
