Seaweed 'causing compost smell'
People living near a Jersey composting plant are being told that seaweed is responsible for the smells.

The Health Protection Department said there was no proof the La Collette plant was responsible.

It said several independent studies found smells that caused residents to complain of nausea came from seaweed.

But Deputy Paul le Claire is pressing ahead with proposals to cut operations at La Collette until investigations are carried out into any health effects.
