The word archipelago comes from the Italian 'arcipelago'. It might have first referred to the Aegean Sea, notable for its large numbers of islands.
British people are known for their love of tea. The word has a Chinese origin, from the Amoy dialect word for tea, which is pronounced 'dey'. Its use to describe an afternoon meal is from the 1700s.
