Five
Year Prospect
These
are the industries that are likely to have greatest jobs growth
over the next 5 years:
1.
Public services
2,500 new jobs predicted. Jobs growth here is mainly down
to increased numbers of people being employed in public heath
services and in education.
2.
Engineering
200 jobs predicted. This includes the manufacture of machinery
which is used in the production process by other companies.
Among the items produced are electrical and optical equipment
such as communication equipment, medical equipment and optical
precision instruments.
3.
Other manufacturing
100 jobs predicted. This sector includes elements like recycling,
which is a growing industry because of concerns about waste
disposal and the environment. Also included here is the manufacture
of items as diverse as office furniture, toys, sports goods
and jewellery.

Remember,
there will be many additional jobs in these and most other
sectors due to retirements and people changing jobs.
