Five Year Prediction

These are the industries that are likely to have greatest jobs growth over the next 5 years:

1. Public Services
5,300 new jobs predicted. Jobs growth here is mainly down to increased numbers of people being employed in public health services, in education and some private sector services.

2. Other Manufacturing
3,800 jobs predicted. This sector includes things like recycling, which is a growing industry because of concerns about waste disposal and the environment. Also included here is the manufacture of items as diverse as office furniture, toys, sports goods and jewellery.

3. Engineering
2,200 new jobs predicted. This includes the manufacture of machinery, which is used in the production process by other companies. It includes the manufacture of electrical and optical equipment such as communication equipment, medical equipment and optical precision instruments.

4. Distribution, Hotels and Catering
1,800 new jobs predicted.
This is currently a very important sector to the North Wales economy.

Remember, there will be many additional jobs in these and most other sectors due to retirements and people changing jobs.
