The Great Britain front girls are having a really strong game and matching Sweden. It has just been the difference between Sara McManus and Jennifer Dodds unfortunately.

    Snowboard slopestyle qualifying

It's not all good news for Team GB.

Mia Brookes hasn't managed to turn it round in her second run, and has missed out on the final. A fall left her with a score of 56.53, and she cannot finish any higher than 14th - with only 12 of 30 going through to Tuesday's final.

And who says the No.13 is unlucky? Gold on Friday the 13th for Matt Weston. Gold on Sunday wearing the No.13 for Huw Nightingale and Charlotte Bankes.

We talk about legacy a lot.

Jenny Jones' bronze medal translated to months' worth of bookings for snowboarding lessons at dry slopes - if you're watching this, if you're a casual observer, a youngster or you're old, it doesn't matter just go give it a go.

We're littered with snow domes and dry slopes in the UK.

I had to quickly duck into a shop in the downpour to make sure I could properly watch the final, and I'm glad I did!!! Well done Charlotte and Huw, absolutely brilliant!!!

    Charlotte

Brilliant! Never really watched it before but that was edge of seat stuff! The way Charlotte makes up ground mid race is incredible. Go girl!

Your eye might well be caught by the name 'McManus' emblazoned across the shoulders of one the Swedish players. Sounds more Stirling than Stockholm, right?

Well, Sara - who plays third for Anna Hasselborg's rink - has a Scottish father, Stuart, who was a footballer in his younger day. He moved south as a child and was on the books at Southampton and Newport County in the mid-80s before carving out a career in Sweden.

When we saw Charlotte Bankes initially cross the line in first place, it was almost a sigh of relief from her. But it's like it's sunk in now after stepping up onto that top podium. Incredible to witness.

This is all going wrong for the British rink here.

A poor shot by Rebecca Morrison gives Sweden the opportuntity to lie five, which they take. Morrison has another go with her final stone and does, at least, manage to limit them to a steal of one.

The Swedes are four points up at the halfway mark.

    Just phenomenal racing.

We said it they looked different from the first race in the quarter-finals, they did, they looked like different racers. They almost looked freer, like their poor performances in the individuals almost set them up for this.

They've reached the halfway point on the adjacent sheet and I've just watched Denise Dupont of Denmark produce a tupperware box of apple slices for her team.

Big fan of that. Reminds me of playing boys' football and sucking an orange quarter dry at half time...

Sweden are not wanting to give Great Britain an inch here by being aggressive and putting the centre guard up.

They are three points ahead. Quite often you would see a team not wanting many guards, but Sweden are confident and want to keep the pressure on Great Britain.

Mia Brookes and Maisie Hill both made errors on their first run in the snowboard slopestyle qualifying - as did quite a few others. Brookes is in 19th place, and Hill in 23rd - but they've got another chance coming up with run two. Only the top 12 of 30 go into Tuesday's final.

Don't remember that much snow in Bolton when I lived there, but cheering on the Brits.

So chuffed for Huw & Charlotte. Absolutely held their nerve to smash it for the gold medal. C'mon the boarders!

While I enjoyed my day at the ice hockey yesterday, it was notable how regularly adverts played for a certain fizzy drink brand which sponsors the Olympics.

An announcer would tell spectators that once they had finished their refreshing beverage, they should make sure to recycle the bottles.

The Olympics bans on-field advertising, so to have these ads loudly beamed at you from the Milano Santagiulia Arena big screens was quite jarring.

IOC spokesman Mark Adams said today: "We have been working for some time on how we can work with our top partners.

"We have been looking at ways to get them recognition in venue without crossing that line and changing the nature of the Games."

We've had a thrilling game in the men's ice hockey in Milan with Switzerland beating the Czech Republic 4-3 after overtime.

The Swiss went 1-0 down in the first period but two quick goals in the second gave them a 2-1 lead.

However, the Czechs twice came from behind in the third to force overtime. That extra period did not last long with Switzerland defenceman Dean Kukan scoring after less than two minutes to end the game.

Switzerland take two points to go a point behind leaders Canada in Group A. Czech Republic take a point and are third, a point behind their opponents today.

An absolute masterclass in racing. Incredible. Every race that they did.

Charlotte Bankes is phenomenal but Huw held his own as well, he became more and more confident.

Charlotte has got that shoulder injury all taped up [from braking her collar bone last year] and she absolutely deserved this. Such a privilege to watch her race.
