So the Swiss take the lead, but the British rink will be content that they restricted them to just one point with the hammer. Now, what can Bruce Mouat and his boys do..?

    New track record. New leaders!

    Still to come:

That was a near perfect start from Freya. I thought she twitched too soon, but she is fine.

And this is what we want to see from Freya, nice and smooth down the bottom.

No red lights for Freya Tarbit as she gets her run under way! She posts the second-fastest start among the women and finishes with a time of 1:00.47 - the best women's run.

    Over to you, Marcus Wyatt.

Game over for Austria. Janine Flock picks up a 1.06 second penalty for her false start. There's nothing Samuel Maier can do.

Austria slot into fifth, trailing leaders Dan Zhao and Wenhao Chen (China) by 1.08 seconds.

    The leading time is 1:59.93.

And now - GB II and Freya Tarbit/Marcus Wyatt.

There won't be a gold medal for Italy. China's Dan Zhao and Wenhao Chen take the lead with a time of 1:59.93.

Naturally, it's another track record but it wasn't a perfect run from Chen.

Next up, it's women's Olympic champion Janine Flock and Samuel Maier for Austria. And then, it'll be time for GB's Freya Tarbit and Marcus Wyatt.

30 of the listed field of 50 go through, and seven jumpers have already made it.

They're still led by Lisa Hirner of Austria.

Italy's Alessandra Fumagalli and Amedeo Bagnis were silver medallists at January's European Championships.

    2. Mystique Ro/Austin Florian (USA) - 2:00.39 (+0.35)

Just to warn you, this might be an absolute belter...

It's a repeat of last spring's World Championship final, in which Bruce Mouat's Saltire-swathed rink saw off Switzerland 5-4.

The Swiss are unbeaten so far in their four games here, while GB team have won four of their five. It would be significant surprise if these two were not in the semi-finals but this is a chance for one of them to set down a marker.

    Let's have it...

Sujung Hong takes a big chunk of wall before corner one and can only post the sixth fastest run among the women - 0.76 slower than leader Mystique Ro.

Despite delivering a clean run, Seunggi Jung can't overturn the deficit.

South Korea slot into fourth place. USA's Ro and Austin Florian - the world champions - remain in the lead with a track-record time of 2:00.39.

That was two good runs from the Americans, which were probably better than their runs in the indavidual event.

This is what the mixed team event brings; a different dynamic, a little bit of fun. You're working with a team mate, when they are normally individuals focussing on themselves.

This whole thing is a really good competition, the riders are fighting for something more than just themselves.

Surely Paddington would be best at curling, land those marmalade sandwiches on the button!

    Ed in London

Got to be slopestyle. Starts at a platform, then on rail, plenty of sticky situations. No time for paws, just have to grin and bear it.

    Matt in Sussex

Surely coming down the stairs in a bathtub was the perfect practice for Paddington to be good at the bobsleigh!

Bruce Mouat: The skip or captain, he throws last and dictates the tactics. Calm, thoughtful, but fiercely competitive. Considered by many to be the best player in the world.

Grant Hardie: Mouat's deputy, he will throw third. He's the analytical one in the team and not afraid to speak his mind. Also drank champagne for the entirety of the 13-hour flight home from Beijing after winning silver.

Hammy McMillan: As the lead, he throws first. He's the lively one of the team and one of the best sweepers in the world. Loves a carry on. He and Hardie are cousins.

Bobby Lammie: The quiet one but an "absolute freak of nature physically" according to those who train alongside him. Along with McMillan, he has reinvented the role of the sweeper.
