Alpine skiing - women's giant slalom

We have a new leader in the women's giant slalom - and it's another Italian!

Lara Della Mea delights the home fans with a superb run, setting a lead time of 2:14.17.

Poland's Maryna Gasienica-Daniel and Switzerland's Camille Rast are now second and third, pushing Asja Zenere out of the medals places.

We're getting to the big-hitters now with Julia Scheib of Austria up next.

This is a great event. The Canadian and Austrian riders were first in the men's race, but they finish last in the women's.

The tables can turn very, very quickly.

WHAT A RIDE from Charlotte Bankes!

The Brits in the crowd were going absolutely mental at that. As was I, truth be told.

Curling - GB women v Sweden (13:05 GMT)

    Richard Winton
    BBC Sport Scotland in Cortina

Right, after a spot of lunch - salmon with fennel and orange, if you're interested - and a few lungfuls of the bitingly-cold Cortina air, we're back at the rink for some more red-hot curling action.

Tough one, this, for Team GB's women. Sweden are unbeaten in their four matches and Anna Hasselborg's mob beat Rebecca Morrison's Scottish rink in the European Championship finals in November.

Still, the British quartet will be buoyed by their victory over world champions Canada on Saturday and need to get some more wins on the board if they are the trouble the semi-finals.

Austria lost that on the finish-line and the British finally have something to cheer about in the snowboard cross.

YES SHE CAN! Charlotte Bankes throws her board across the line to finish a mere 0.02 seconds ahead of Australia's Mia Clift.

What a race from the Briton.

Her and Huw Nightingale are safely through to the semi-finals.

Charlotte Bankes! What a move that was, cutting inside to move into the lead. Can she stay there?

We spoke to Huw and Charlotte - you cannot make a mistake on this course.

Huw Nightingale is losing ground here. He needs to keep in touch with the Canadian and Austrian riders to give Charlotte Bankes the best possible chance.

He crosses the finish line in third, 1.09 seconds behind Canada's Eliot Grondin.

    Now here goes Bankes...

You can see the time delay in the second leg.

The women don't want to flinch when they're at the gate and keep their eye on anyone else's.

The noise can put you off - like a 100m sprint, anything can send the muscle-twitch fibers firing.

OK then. Here goes Team GB's Huw Nightingale!

Can he give Charlotte Bankes a decent advantage?

A reminder that GB are in the yellow bibs.

It's amazing how quickly conditions can change. The first run was only a couple of hours ago but so far all the times in the second run have been a good four or five seconds slower than this morning.

Italy's Asja Zenere still leads and if times continue to be that much slower, she may end up much higher in the standings than she might have thought coming into the second run.

This crowd is exceptionally loud today. The snow park is absolutely buzzing for the snowboard cross.

Stacy Gaskill was the second rider to drop in, but the United States athlete crashes out halfway down and that ends their hopes.

France and Switzerland will progress to the semi-finals.

The men are down in the first quarter-final, and it's France's Loan Bozzolo who crosses the finish line first.

But only 0.08 seconds separate him and the United States rider. That's nothing!

Now off go the women in a staggered start...

The Charlotte Bankes and Huw Nightingale Official Fan Club were at the snow park bright and early this morning to get their flags in place.

While the individual events did not go their way, with Bankes exiting in the quarter-finals and Nightingale going out in the round of 16, they have another shot at Olympic glory in the mixed team event.

In 2023, the Brits were crowned mixed team world champions, so they have pedigree.

Bankes and Nightingale start their campaign in the second quarter-final, wearing the yellow bibs.

We've had the first 10 of the top 30 in the second run so far and Italy's Asja Zenere leads the way with a combined time of 2:14.63.

The top 20 from the first run are still to come, though, so expect the top of the leaderboard to change significantly before the medals are handed out.

    Mixed team snowboard cross

Get ready for chaos! The snowboard cross mixed team event is coming up in a couple of minutes - live on BBC Two.

It starts with quarter-finals, then semi-finals and then finals.

The men race first, starting together in groups of four. Once their race has finished, and their times are confirmed, the start gates open for the women's race.

So, for example, if GB's Huw Nightingale wins his race by 0.5 seconds, then Charlotte Bankes will get a 0.5 second head start in her race.

    Maybe I've jinxed it now...
