Norway's Johannes Dale-Skjevdal is first out of the third shooting point after a perfect set.

    It's getting tasty now!

That has got to be up there from Roth.

Landed on his feet, skied away with confidence and that was incredible.

    Brilliant from Noe Roth!

He sticks the landing and that has got to be good enough for a medal, surely?! Will it be good enough for gold?

    Oh no, Emilien Jacquelin!

The Frenchman's hopes of a medal in this event are over as he makes four mistakes at the third shooting point.

You just cannot afford inconsistency with the rifle! A prime example of the fine margins at play in this event.

  5. 'He hit the ejector seat'published at 13:43 GMT 20 February

Werner did the trick, great form but as he landed he hit the ejector seat button. He was too heavy on his toes and short on rotation.

    Ouch!

Switzerland's Pirmin Werner goes for 'the hurricane' and he does so much right... but ends up crashing out, doing something of a forward roll and loses both skiis!

It's over to Noe Roth to try and prevent a China one-two-three...

With 21 minutes gone in this men's 15km mass start biathlon, it is Norway's Sturla Holm Laegreid in the gold medal position.

It looks like we are heading for an all-Norweigan podium at the minute with Dale-Skjevdal and Christiansen right behind him.

Italy's Tommaso Giacomel is clearly not feeling quite right.

He has dropped off from pole position after the second shooting range and his skiing power has dropped right off.

He will still go home with a silver medal from the mixed relay, but it is a real shame for him.

The reigning Olympic champion will no longer be reigning - he will lose his title with that jump.

That will be the best jump of the day so far. Absolutely incredible from Wang Xindi.

His third Olympics and he's used to the pressure. That was spectacular.

It is Norway's Johannes Dale-Skjevdal who is in front at the 7km mark!

He has France's Emilien Jacquelin and fellow Norwegians Laegreid and Christiansen breathing down his neck though.

This third shooting point will be crucial in deciding the medals.

Wang Xindi moves into gold medal position with a 132.60 - the highest score we've seen today!

A massive effort and that is going to take some beating.

Defending champion Qi Guangpu will be the first of three to try and do just that... but he doesn't land his jump!

Only the Swiss can deny Wang now.

Two athletes down and Li Tianma takes the lead with a 123.93 but, just like Sun Jiaxu before him, he doesn't look overly happy with it.

    Here comes Wang Xindi...

It is Tommaso Giacomel's turn to take the lead in this men's 15km mass start biathlon.

He gets out of the second shooting range first, with a 1.4 second and 2 second gap over Norway duo Dale-Skjevdal and Christiansen.

As expected, France's Emilien Jacquelin is the first to reach the second shooting point.

He hits his first two, misses his third and then hits his final two - but he will now have to ski a 150m penalty loop.

All four biathletes who came in behind Jacquelin shoot clean, so hopefully his lead isn't hampered too much!

China's Sun Jiaxu has put down a back full-double full-double full. It looks mightily impressive and the judges give him a 123.42.

He looks disappointed with it but that's the score to beat.

Emilien Jacquelin of France is really pulling away from the rest of the field now.

He had a nightmare race in the individual, finishing 55th after six misses at the shooting range, but he looks back to his best today after claiming bronze in the pursuit.

He has a 16.4 second lead over Norway's Sturla Holm Laegreid at the 4.8km mark.

These skiers are going to throw absolutely everything at it and they can't repeat what they've done in the first final so these will be all different tricks to what they've done before.

The four Chinese athletes will drop first so they can put the pressure on but the Swiss pair will know what they need to do to medal.

Noe Roth will be last up. Sun Jiaxu is up first...

I did say everything could change after the first shooting point - and it is France's Emilien Jacquelin who is the first to hit all five targets.

He was absolutely lethal with the rifle and he races away 5.4 seconds ahead of Otto Invenius of Finland in second.
