There's a lot of nerves in this final.

We've just seen world silver medallist Mac Forehand take a fall so his first run has only scored 1.25 points.

That is not the start the American will have wanted.

A South Korean coach is running around the outside of the rink, with some money in her hands, to lodge a protest with the officials.

She's absolutely legging it! Apparently you have to pay to submit a complaint.

A huge shock here, as the Netherlands will not progress to the final. No speed skating medal for the Dutch? Almost unheard of!

It was an unforced error from Xandra Velzeboer too, as she lost balance on a corner under minimal pressure. The look of anguish on her face told a story.

There are Dutch journalists with hands on heads all around me in the press box. This is a turn-up.

    What drama?!

France crash out, and then the Netherlands do to, with Xandra Velzeboer slipping. The Dutch team were the hot favourites.

Italy cross the line first, with China also making it through to Final A.

GB's Niall Treacy, speaking to BBC Sport after crashing out of heat four in the 1000m short track: "Bit frustrating obviously, but I felt I was in a good position, I felt physically strong, holding my line and I heard an athlete come [alongside me] I didn't know who it was. I felt it was a little bit late and tight and I wanted to defend my position. It's the Olympic Games, you can't be pushed around.

"It's unfortunate that the referee called joint responsibility because it's not even like it was my fault, it was his fault so, frustrating but I'll dust myself off and come back for the 15s."

On going out to attack the race from the front: "That's how I've raced for the past four years - it suits me quite well and is one of my strength's to make the race quite hard. I like that secuirty of being in the fastest thirds if it doesn't go well but to have it end like that is frustrating. But like I said, this is short track and this is something that happens."

On processing what happened: "It's a bit difficult because in the moment, I'm defending my line and then afterwards it's a tight call and you don't know if you're in the wrong or if he's in the wrong so, it's like get up, finish the race and see what the referee has to say."

His time of three minutes and 30.66 is slower than this morning's qualifying time but it doesn't matter as he is through to the semi-final.

So is his compatriot Erik Valnes.
