There have been more double faults than aces in this set from Zizou Bergs. It has been a little untidy.

He very nearly hit the deck, but he was able to get away with it in the end.

Coach Jamie Delgado, speaking to BBC Sport about Grigor Dimitrov's injury at Wimbledon last year: "It was tough day for everyone.

"The message of the time was he will get another chance to play. Because initially it is that 'will I play at Wimbledon again? Or be in that situation again against a top player?

"And it's true because those opportunities don't come around that often for everyone, you don't want to tell him things that aren't true because it is an opportunity missed, but remind him he will be back again."

On his use of the backhand slice against Jakub Mensik in round two: "The slice backhand is a great shot in todays game because not many players use it and not as many as Grigor does.

"Grigor uses great variation and it was giving him a lot of opportunities against Mensik. It is about balance of when to slice and when to hit."

On tactics against Matteo Berrettini: "He is going to have to serve well. When in offensive positions he will have to attack.

"Both players will do similar, so it is who can get into those positions more. A lot will also come down to serve."

  6. Dimitrov aiming to make up for 2025 heartbreakpublished at 18:21 BST 4 July

It was perhaps the most heart-breaking sight of last year's Wimbledon as Grigor Dimitrov was forced to retire injured while leading Jannik Sinner by two sets to love in the fourth round.

Sinner went on to win championship, while Dimitrov has been plagued by injury ever since and seen his ranking plummet.

But the fit-again Bulgarian has started to find form again during the grass court season and claimed a superb four-set victory to shock Czech 15th seed Jakub Mensik in the second round on Thursday,

Dimitrov's mind naturally flashed back to the night which has defined his journey since.

"I'm very emotional and a little bit overwhelmed at the moment. All I wanted to do is just come out and fight, that was my goal. I didn't even think about winning or losing, I didn't even think about my body to that extent," Dimitrov said.

Next up for the 35-year-old wildcard is Italy's Matteo Berrettini, another who knows the pain and frustration of injuries all too well.

He was to retire from his French Open quarter-final a few weeks back but has returned to fitness and beat Stan Wawrinka and Arthur Fils to reach this stage.

This has all the makings of a thriller.

What a hold of serve! There is a sense of deja vu unfolding because having blown a 4-1 lead in the fourth set, Arthur Fery has reeled Zizou Bergs in under similar circumstances in the fifth set.

There is standing room only around court 18 right now.

Zizou Bergs is showing a few signs of frustration. The Belgian is complaining about something to the chair umpire. There's a suggestion it could be that he believes Arthur Fery celebrated too early as he gets to 30-15.

Bergs channels his emotions the right way and pulls of an exquisite cut shot to lead 40-30.

    What an effort!

It is interesting though because Zizou Bergs seems to serve better when he's on equal footing or losing. As soon as he gets ahead, he gets tight. It has been so obvious.

He was having to slow his serve down way more than normal because he was worried about double faults.

Either way, incredible credit to Arthur Fery for believing in himself again.
