Eastern Europe has continued their magnificent tennis traditions. Czechs have always been strong and are now joined by others from this part of Europe. Inspiring. Keep it this way. Lovely tennis. Joy to watch.

    Muchova 2-6 1-1 Noskova*

Not the start Karolina Muchova needed as she nets on the opening point in her first service game.

Muchova just can't get going. She has no answers as Linda Noskova moves 0-30 up, before the ninth seed misses to offer temporary relief.

Ah, now that will feel very good indeed!

Four points on the bounce for Muchova, who has a foothold in this must-win second set.

Noskova has all the answers at the moment. She is sneaking shots to the forehand quite a lot, which is Muchova's strength, but the tactics would have been to go to the backhand.

So Muchova needs to get the footwork going, but she isn't really able to run around because Noskova keeps hitting to the forehand.

Muchova has not yet found the range on the forehand, which is normally very dependable.

    *Muchova 2-6 0-1 Noskova

Linda Noskova picks up where she left off at the end of the first set by driving in a forehand winner to get up and running.

More powerful, accurate serving proves too much for Karolina Muchova. Noskova's rhythm certainly hasn't been affected by that wait between sets.

What a first set for the 21-year-old Linda Noskova. A tough start to this final for Karolina Muchova.

The ninth seed Noskova won 12 of the 13 points played behind her first serve in a commanding opening half an hour on court.

Muchova returns to the court. Can she reset and start afresh?

Wow. It seems the fearlessness of youth is a better recipe than experience in your first Wimbledon experience.

Noskova, 21, settled very quickly to forge ahead and, although 29-year-old Muchova did briefly show signs of finding her feet, it was the younger Czech who continued to play freer.

Muchova has dashed off court for a change of scenery and, she hopes, a change of mindset.

That's a real blow for Karolina Muchova, who has headed for a breather off court.

A fast start was vital for the older Czech, who holds a 29-0 record this season when taking the first set.

She's going to have to do this the hard way now.

That is some way to win the first set.

Muchova ground to a halt, not because the lob was long but because she had to concede it was the set for Noskova.

It has taken just 31 minutes.

And this time she gets it! What a way to do it!

Karolina Muchova looked to be in control of the point as she made her way to the net, but Linda Noskova pulls out a sensational lob that just pinches the baseline.

    Advantage, Noskova.

The main thing from Sven [Groeneveld, Muchova's coach] is for her to get lower. I'm struck by how much space Noskova has on second serve.

The connection on the return from Linda Noskova is so clean. She's an incredible ball striker with a very short take-back, which is so important on grass.

I really feel for Muchova, what we’ve witnessed in these championships, is a player with everything we expect of her. Right now, the wheels feel slightly wobbly.
